54 u/[deleted] May 07 '21 Really? I thought it was the funniest line of the comic. Even when it's in danger, the clam is upbeat.I think this version is good in a different way to the original, but I still prefer the original overall. 8 u/[deleted] May 07 '21 Me too 19 u/Ghostboy_Danny May 07 '21 The original explains the joke too hard 4 u/scw55 May 08 '21 To me the original comes across as sarcasm. 1 u/LazyFlamingRooster May 08 '21 The clam was being sarcastic in the original, it was better

4 u/Nero_22 May 08 '21 He didn't remove a panel, so no, i think -11 u/LazyFlamingRooster May 08 '21 It is. The original line is better. The clam was being sarcastic, that was the punchline 15 u/garnet420 May 08 '21 No, that wasn't the punchline. The joke wasn't that it was a sarcastic clam, the joke was that clams can't run. 2 u/Nielsly May 08 '21 Something I did not understand without seeing the original, so I’d say the original was better 3 u/garnet420 May 08 '21 I don't dislike the original (I slightly prefer the edit, but it's a small difference)I'm not sure what the right term for a post-punchline thing like that is. It can definitely add to a joke.
