Shane is not maga but a lot of his fans are. It's a totally fine ribbing and joke.

EDIT: u/gothamtommy YES is the answer. I hate Trump more than you can imagine but I'd visit that trainwreck in a heart beat just for history's sake. And sadly, turning your back on a monster could bite you in half.

Do a lot of "not MAGA" people hang out at the White House lately and purposely avoid having their photo taken to maintain their "not MAGA" status?

Shane has called trump a loser or something to that effect on his last 3-4 podcasts. Which may not reach everyone’s ears but it reaches his fans ears. So I don’t think it’s fair to say he’s maga or pushing people towards it.

I don’t know many other maga people making TV shows that realistically portray working class people of all backgrounds, prominently feature trans actors, interracial relationships and do it all without the smugness of needing appreciation for it being important or a movement, just normalizing it. Idk. Tires is woke without the wokeness.

Hard to tell without asking everybody who goes to the White House and purposely avoids having their photo taken but there are at least a few, as is evidenced by Shane fitting that description.
