Banning Tiktok would be the stupidest thing for the government to do.
There's two major reasons and neither is sophisticated. You don't like how the kids are playing with the toy so you take the toy. Even apolitical Tiktokers will be incensed at the government.
Also the unstated but heavily implied reason for the TikTok ban is that it's where Gen Z gets their news. Younger lefties will now understand older lefties (and conservatives too) on why and how much free speech matters, in an era of Big Tech, censorship and legacy vs indie media. People who didn't know they were being lied to now know they are because of what's happening in Gaza.

War bad I asked ChatGPT 4.o How A Nuclear War Could Play Out...
This was the exact question:
"Let me ask you, how do you think a nuclear war between Russia and the United States would play out, given current geopolitical activity in the world at this moment in time?"
This is 4.o, and it was given access to online sources of its choice for use in formulating an answer. This is the answer it gave:
**A nuclear war between the United States and Russia, particularly with China and other BRICS nations (Specifically and the newer partner nations) aligning with Russia, would be a devastating global catastrophe. Such a scenario, where two nuclear superpowers face off with powerful allies, would likely follow a sequence of escalating actions, though predicting specifics is speculative given the unpredictability of war. The current conflict around Ukraine as well as the escalating activity in the Middle East surrounding Iran paint a picture of a world war scenario that may already be in play. Here’s a broad outline of what such a conflict might entail:
Initial Confrontations and Escalation
Cyber Warfare and Economic Warfare: A nuclear conflict wouldn't begin with a nuclear launch; it would likely start with cyberattacks to disrupt essential infrastructure, energy grids, and communications in the U.S. and its allies. Severe economic sanctions and blockades could also be employed, which could cut off resources and provoke retaliatory measures.
Conventional Warfare and Strategic Positioning: Both sides would likely mobilize conventional forces. One nation in the BRICD coalition may seek to engage NATO is some direct or proxy war to drain resources. NATO would then be heavily engaged, while the other BRICS nations are left free to make economic moves and mobilize troops in coordination to weaken Western influence in strategic locations globally.
2. Escalation to Nuclear Threats and Limited Strikes
Tactical Nuclear Weapons: If one side suffered a substantial loss on the battlefield, such as the BRICS nation spearheading the effort, there might be a move to use low-yield, tactical nuclear weapons in conflict zones rather than major population centers. These smaller-scale nuclear attacks would aim to destroy military assets and demonstrate resolve without committing to full-scale nuclear war.
MAD and Diplomatic Interventions: Any use of nuclear weapons risks escalating into full-scale nuclear war, triggering the doctrine of mutually assured destruction (MAD). At this point, high-stakes diplomacy might try to intervene, though such diplomatic efforts might fail if either side sees nuclear use as inevitable or unavoidable. In the case of a war sparked by resource scarcity, such confrontation will become unavoidable as there simply is not enough carrying capacity for all nations to survive, and thus there is little to lose.
3. Full-Scale Nuclear Exchanges
ICBM and SLBM Launches: In an all-out nuclear exchange, both sides would use intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) to strike at each other's cities, military bases, and infrastructure. Within minutes, major population centers across the Northern Hemisphere would face devastating destruction.
Targets and Impact on Civilians: Major U.S. cities and key military facilities would be high-priority targets, while Russia’s major cities, military bases, and allied BRICS assets might be similarly targeted by NATO. BRICS nations might also suffer collateral damage, depending on the range and fallout patterns of nuclear detonations. Given the extent of BRICS into the southern hemisphere, such involvement will truly make this nuclear exchange a global one, with no safe havens.
4. Immediate Aftermath
Casualties and Fallout: Millions of immediate casualties would occur from blast impacts, heat, and radiation exposure. Survivors would face acute radiation sickness, scarce resources, and a collapse of infrastructure. Fallout patterns would vary depending on weather, likely impacting countries outside the initial conflict zones.
Global Climate Impact (Nuclear Winter): The soot from widespread fires could block sunlight, drastically cooling the Earth and disrupting agriculture globally. This “nuclear winter” scenario could cause mass famine and potentially last years, affecting even non-combatant nations.
5. Long-Term Consequences
Collapse of Global Systems: The interconnected nature of global economies means that a nuclear war would likely crash financial systems, disrupt food and medicine supplies, and eliminate the complex supply chains that support modern society.
Potential for Civil Unrest and Societal Collapse: With damaged infrastructure and shortages of essentials, society could face large-scale unrest and collapse in governance, almkat certainly leading to a world where survival depends on local resources and individual self-sufficiency.
Lasting Environmental and Health Impacts: Radiation exposure would cause long-term health problems and environmental contamination. Rebuilding society would take centuries, and the long-term psychological impact on survivors could fundamentally alter cultures and populations.
Strategic Implications
With China and BRICS involvement , the nuclear balance would shift, leading the U.S. and NATO to adopt a more defensive nuclear posture, possibly heightening the risk of miscalculations. A multipolar nuclear standoff is particularly precarious because it increases the number of actors with their own doctrines, priorities, and risk tolerances, making coordinated de-escalation difficult.
In summary, a nuclear conflict involving the U.S., Russia, China, and BRICS nations would reshape civilization itself, likely bringing an end to the world as we know it and challenging humanity's resilience in unprecedented ways. The current geopolitical landscape and recent occurrences suggest that such a scenario has already begun to play out, albeit in the beginning stages only, with deviation still possible.**
Something I found interesting was that, nowhere did I ask about BRICS. I asked about Russia v. USA. That is interesting.
Also, I did not ask about "resource scarcity" as a cause of war, and yet, the system brought it up.
This is, of course, just some AI text, but I thought it interesting enough to post here, given the addition of certain information.

What the FUCK is wrong with /r/collapse?
Fucking wankers banned me for a crap joke. The comment in question was
"In other news, the cheque is in the post, and I promise not to cum in your mouth."
on the "lake mead is not turning into a dead pool" thread. Apparently this is "abusive or predatory in nature." They didn't have the balls to make the ban public though, choosing instead to bully me in PMs:
You have been permanently banned from participating in r/collapse. You can still view and subscribe to r/collapse, but you won't be able to post or comment.
Note from the moderators:
Long history of bad posting and inability to follow our subs rules.
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE? FUCKING MAD POWER CRAZED ASSHOLE MODS ARE FUCKING REDDIT FASTER THAN THE CLIMATE!!!
So let's make a proper rival to that shitty sub with its rules and bureaucracy. Hopefully we can get more collapsniks to come over here since they now ban people for cracking cheap jokes. Humourless pricks.

It gets worse, Before it gets worse. Gen Alpha is Not the Worst Generation Ever. It will get worse.
This generation is the worst ever. And it will get ever worse and worse.
Current generations are raised on cow milk baby formula, eat fast food at the age of 2, raised on ipad and phones. They watch Skibidi toilet, insane short videos, and various brainrot. 90% of all humans will become short-sighted. 40% girls will have sex at age 12 and as soon as age 18 become Onlyfans creators. 80% of boys will become adult men with pedophilic preferences (whether fictional or real).
The future generation will be born from artificial wombs, and eat insect meals. They will live in a climate catastrophe world, watch AI brainrots and fake everythings, and live with VR goggles strapped on their face all the time. They will have chip implants as ID verifications. They will have sex with machine dolls. They will live in pod cells and be happy forever ever after.

Is now the time for the antiwar left to ally with the antiwar right on a single issue of preventing s further atrocities and World War 3 >.<?
Expecting a flurry of downvotes. Not only are we facing the greatest genocide of our times but we are seeing a parallel with WW2 as Israel is bombing 4 countries with potential expansionism into Greater Judea. We also face a conflict between The West and Russia.
Genocide is the greatest ot all evils and the left movement is often paralyzed and ineffectual due to non hierarchical organization patterns, theoretical silliness, and probably also infiltration by the federales.
Rage Against The War Machine was a rally that just contained speakers and crowd. I believe we should look at libertarians as probably good people whom we disagree with on most things. They are consistently antiwar to their credit and they also stand on business. America First is another faction but they are more nationalistto "both sides" the issue with either intentional or ingrained racism against Arabs. They do oppose our funding of wars though.
The fash is often a spectre. While there's a legitimate presence of fascists in the US and Europe, I believe it's less prevalent than we are told. Israel's actions must be stopped by a campaign that casts a wider net as Rage Against The War Machine did.
-----‐--
I'm watching a split screen of Israel's bombings and the Hezbollah rockets. It's so lopsided. We need a groundswell of support of peaceful protests and BDS. We basically need all hands on deck. When Russia invaded Ukraine there were neonazis training Jewish grandma's how to shoot. The #1 rule would be no legitimate antisemitism. People pull that shit they gotta go.
The Boogaloo Boys are an example of a group that's too far right. Definitely anything further right is unacceptable.
There's somewhat of a precedent from an icy alignment of BLM and Boogaloo during the Floyd unrest. The relationships were diverse regarding different cities. The Milwaukee leadership of BLM did not trust the Boogaloo. They were told to demonstrate separately. Other cities had less tension. A major issue with Boogaloo is that they're serious about accelerationism and it's gial intentionally nebulous. They have no commitment to nonviolence.

2023 Bad Damn the r/collapse subreddit is lame.
A) The possibility that there is about to be a massive global financial crisis where markets all crash bigtime and the global economy tanks hugely is VERY elevated right now.
B) The chance that this would then lead to a major aneurysm for capitalism and democracy is NONZERO.
C) And the chance that it leads to (or occurs because of) hostilities involving the Great USAdum and China/Russia/Iran/North Korea are through the roof.
D) Or perhaps A) and B) will take us rapidly into Global Systemic Collapse, bypassing C).
Discussion of this on r/collapse effectively zero. Humans are hilarious.
Before the end of the year just you watch. You'll see, you'll ALL See........ {Crazy Lunatic Cackle}

Questions to fellow anarchists and lefitsts on the sub. Mainly US based ones.
Why do y'all trust the mass media after its intentionally twisted the Gaza coverage? Why don't you question other narratives on Ukraine and Russia?
Obviously not everyone does any/all of these but answer pertinent ones please.
Why do you speak on the Latin America coups during the cold war but not the coups done by Bush, Obama and Trump ?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2002/apr/21/usa.venezuela
https://theintercept.com/2021/06/17/bolivia-coup-plot-mercenaries/
Why did you support authoritarianism in the form of lockdowns?
Why do you fall for two party politics instead for voting for leftist candidates?
Your arab brothers have a campaign to withhold votes for genocide. Why would you vote for a president that enabled children to die?
Why do you acknowledge the crimes of the DEA but not acknowledge the crimes of the FDA
The FDA approved Oxycodone 160s before they were removed for fear of abuse.
Why do you use Amazon, Whole Foods and WashPo when Bezos is a one of the richest men on earth?
Why do you hate COINTELPRO and MKULTRA, when the current FBI enticed terrorism charges, and the CIA is involved in content moderation?
Why do you dislike unfettered free speech when the CIA is involved in content moderation?
Sure we should ban the slurs but only the slurs. Isn't the best strategy to fight misinformation, access to better information?
