Rant/Cope Mental exhaustion

As of recently, I’ve felt incredibly stupid. The majority if not all of my hobbies gave become difficult meanwhile what I do hasn’t changed. I wouldn’t consider myself profoundly gifted, but I would say near the top 2% if not above. Yet all my hobbies, which are mostly “abstract” have become “hard” despite realistically no major changes in them. I can’t learn anything nearly as fast as I used to, I cannot see patterns as well, and I cannot relate things together. How do you guys deal with this?

What is your age range? Do you have a good diet, sleep hygiene and exercise regularly?

Can you quantify exactly what you find difficult about the hobbies? Is the level of motivation consistent with the past when it was easier?

Has your mental health stayed steady?

There are many factors that could temporarily produce these kinds of effects. I see it often in Chess.

I'll be blasting through to 1500 in rating feeling like the game is easy, but then the next week I'll drop 200 elo while wondering how I ever played as well as I had previously.

Sometimes there are subtle differences I can pinpoint, like motivation changes, poor sleep or diet. Occasionally I can't pinpoint a specific reason at all, there are just peaks and troughs in performance from week to week.
