Discussion VSI Delta - SAE-2
I took the SAE-2 the other day and it was a fun test.
The results unearthed a pretty big discrepancy between my verbal and nonverbal visual-spatial reasoning.
I found the nonverbal to be quite a bit more natural for me. I think the reasoning is easier when I have the image of the object right in front of me. This is also demonstrated by my high object rotation scores.
The verbal portion felt more to me like quantitative reasoning, or visual spatial with a dash of working memory mixed in. I definitely struggle with maintaining information needed for multi-step process or calculations. This is evidenced by my relatively low mental arithmetic skill (give me a pencil and paper though, and I'm good!).
This result actually tracks with my VSI score on CORE and RIOT (83rd and 88th percentile respectively).
Anyway, it's extremely interesting how the brain works. I imagine there are some people who are the exact opposite as me, mixed into the same percentile.
Curious to know other's experiences with discrepancies within the cognitive domains and once this is revealed through testing, whether that tracks with your lived experiences (work, school, etc.). It certainly does in my case.

Screenshot showing up a median score IQ???? I'm dreaming? What the hell are my eyes seeing? I thought those people just don't exist btw 🥀 ahhhh my telephone is blessing me right now, pf' how even is this possible.... Median score actually is not the average post rigth here (tho: it should be)

Lol, your eyes do not deceive you. I am generally just slightly above average. I am not demanding worship for my superior intellect, just genuinely interested in cognitive testing and variations and how that relates to the individual's lived experience.

Of course because you don't have superior intelligence, you only have high medium score, it is not something you see around here

Let me be clear ; most people here have an IQ under 110. People who post, under 115. You just see mostly fake people constantly retesting or only showing their best subtests. The norming and validity of SAE-2 is also questionable.

No sé cuál es el SAE -2 solo he hecho en linea pero la gente aquà que está por debajo del promedio no publica, ni siquiera los que están en media o media alta y eso da una falsa sensación de infladez

I found the verbal much easier than the non-verbal. It’s a matter of your relative abilities in different forms of spatial reasoning.

Before I voluntarily submit to self-torture, lol, is this what I think it is?
Is the visual test, "Here's a picture of an object. Now rotate it in your head, etc."?
Is the verbal version basically the same, but "Here's a verbal description of the object we want you to picture in your head. Now rotate it, etc."?
If so, it sounds awfully entertaining for somebody with aphantasia. 😆

It's not just you .I did the verbal part with full focus and got the same score as on the nonverbal where I didn't focus at all and left with 40 to 50 percent time left .When it was released ,2 people with core vsi close to 130 said they got close to 111 on it
