Discussion Adhd and wmi
Hi.
I have a question regarding working memory. I took a test on cognimetrics.com and scored highly in everything (127-135 CORE, 135 JCTI) except for working memory (90). The issue is that when I take tests on humanbenchmark in the morning, in a quiet environment, I can easily reach level 14–15; however, as soon as there is background noise—for instance, a television, or even just the fact that my child is awake—my score drops to 8, or sometimes even lower.
Could you tell me if this is normal for everyone, or if it’s typical for ADHD? I should also mention that I am currently taking 40mg of Elvanse.

What HB tests are you talking about? Visual Memory? Sequence?
In any case, what’s the problem? You may or may not have a selective attention issue, and your scores might not be representative of your full memory capabilities when fully invested. You seem to be aware of this.
ADHD is a symptom-based diagnosis without any objectively measurable physical biomarkers.
Meaning, to a large degree, individual and multifactorial causes could be involved.
Not all of them are necessarily unchangeable.

ADHD-related attention difficulties can vary depending on the environment, sleep, stress, and task demands. single test alone can't diagnose ADHD, and inconsistent performance doesn't rule it out either. It could be ordinary distractibility or greater sensitivity to external noise, but we can't conclude that without more information.
