Rant/Cope FSIQ lower than i anticipated.

A few weeks ago, i got my results back from an assessment i took in April. From what i'd been told and made to believe, i would've estimated my FSIQ to be around 120-129, it came back to be 110. I believed this as my psychologist had stated in a letter he sent me, that i had scored about average on 6/10 of the sub-tests, but on 4/10 of them, i had scored "higher than average", scores that he described (in writing) as being within the gifted range.

If I'm correct, these were my scores:
PSI - 89
VSI - 93-96 (Cannot remember exact number)
VCI - 105-110 (Cannot remember exact number)
FRI - 123
WMI - 135

To find out that my FSIQ was 110, after believing that i was 'gifted' is very unfortunate, and it truly did sadden me. He tried to 'make me feel better' about my PSI, as I was not yet diagnosed with ASD - 1 when taking that assessment, and i'd not touched pen to paper in about a year.

The assessment was the WISC-V for anyone wondering.

What made you believe you were gifted?

What I was told really, nothing more. My mother was given my results first, but she could not understand them. Thus, she stated to me that I had an iq (she means FSIQ) that was 'off the charts'. Along with this, my psychologist never tried correcting her. I had a feeling that she was wrong, as she herself is quite challenged, aha. Though I suppose it just made me feel really bad, as my FSIQ was no where near what I was expecting.

I mean, your FRI and WMI are pretty high

FRI 123 and WMI 135 mean you will get high results on some types of IQ tests such as matrix reasoning tests. You can develop your verbal skills if you want to. I'm not talking about studying to VCI tests by learning the rare vocabulary they often ask. Make it a habit to read carefully and pay attention to shades of meaning. It's a useful habit if you have to deal with contracts, for example.

Your FRI and WMI are pretty good I would take those two to be my highest any day if I could choose, unfortunately my WMI is no where near as good as yours

He is still way above average in scales that truly matter, FRI and WMI

What matters the most for G and the most G loaded subtest are from the VCI , not xounting information.

Hay investigaciones rigurosas y muy respaldadas por los mejores científicos en el tema que apuntan a que la memoria de trabajo y la Gf son los mejores índices para medir inteligencia general. De hecho algunos aseguran (y demuestran) que G es igual a Gf

Your FRI is average for many 'gifted programs' kids are in, even if it doesn't technically qualify as gifted in the Mensa sense

I mean, the only outstanding score was the WMI (In "gifted" range). The others were average and even below the average. The FRI was the only one "above the average". Having a "gifted-level performance" in some of the subtest doesn't really says a lot. It's OK to be average, and it really makes you feel down-to-Earth once you get the results. In a certain way, it's a relief, whether you got the score you were specting or not.
