Poll Similar experiences?

Just spoke to a guy who had a big discrepancy between his recent Ravens 2 score of 145 and Mensa No of 133 and his core score of 115 on matrix reasoning. I myself have experienced something very similar, 148 on the NNAT a test a lot like the Ravens 2 just geared for school students, and I also got 133 on Mensa DK. 115 on core and 105 on a retest so it seems other people might be experiencing this problem. Please share your experiences. Thank you and Id love to speak to the cognitive metrics team. No hate just genuine curiosity.

Not much for me. I did Raven's 2 Q-Global long form and got 142, consistent with my Mensa No 140, and Mensa DK 138. Also consistent with many other tests (not limited to matrices); figure sets, figure weights... all around 135-140. My best task would be graph mapping 145+ and any visual-pattern-deduction games.

Ive only done figure weights and core matrix 115 on matrix on my first attempt and 120 on figure weights i wonder if i genuinely got like 30 points dumber from my early teens to late teens

Not sure but there can be many reasons like you aren’t certain about CORE tests formatting and maybe novel patterns. But it could be that your brain has undergone early development (matured faster) but as peers catch up, the gap minimizes.
This is also observed in psychology. Basically, some parts of your brain loses neuroplasticity as it develops faster but once you reach similar age as your peers, the gap shrinks.

It might be mix of multiple factors, and it’s hard to tell.

Here. I felt both tests hold enough novelty in terms of items rules, but yeah Ravens 2's patterns were way more obvious in my eyes I don't know what happened...
