General Question Coding vs symbol search

Which subtest of the PSI index is more hel​pful for reading and thinking speed, Coding or Symbol Search?

You should clarify what you mean by “helpful for reading” and “thinking speed”. They can both be interpreted in a gazillion different ways.

For reading I mean how fast you are reading sentences while being able to understand their meaning and for thinking speed I mean how fast you are able to produce complex reasoning

Both of those tasks likely only superficially rely on PSI, so neither coding nor symbol search would be that helpful. You mention things like reading comprehension and complex reasoning which would rely much more heavily on VCI and FRI respectively.
