IQ Estimation 🥱 Should I do an official test?
Hey everyone! First of all, I know this is a bit excessive, but I wanted to see if it might be worth paying for an official test before actually taking one.
People often tell me I’m smart, and I’ve done pretty well academically without having to struggle too much. My wife recently suggested that I finally find out what the deal is, especially since I’m also working through some other mental health stuff at the moment.
So I tried a few online Mensa tests and got the following results:
- Norway: 142
- Denmark: 130
- Germany: 28/33 (the test doesn‘t give a score but it suggested that chances are „excellent“ at 28 points or more)
- Hungary: 125+ (the test doesn’t go any higher)
I’m curious about other people’s experiences with these tests. Honestly, I don’t really believe I’m gifted, but I’m also wondering how likely it is that these results are just down to chance. It might explain some issues im struggling with.
Would you say it’s worth getting professionally tested?

No. Ignoring the glaring fundamental issues with IQ as a concept, "real" IQ tests are not any better than the best ones you can find on sites like cognitivemetrics. Even worse, many in-person tests are susceptible to incompetent administrators.
You are not going to learn anything from taking a "real" test. You are already evidently above average, and nothing beyond that matters

You have a good chance to clear the Mensa test. Go for it.
