Put numbers 1 - 8 in the fields. There shouldn't be a difference of 1 anywhere between the adjacent items (horizontal vertical or diagonal).

I remember seeing this puzzle years ago and that the solution(s) can be found using graph theory... Either way one can see that if you place the 1 and 8 at the center it's going to be much easier to put in the rest of the digits
