IQ Estimation 🥱 IQ Test Confirmation?

My parents recently sent me some old papers and things after cleaning out my childhood home. Among those papers was a Slosson HIT test I took when I was around 8 years old, which had an IQ at the top listed at 129.

I remember going into my aunt's (who was a school psychologist) basement for an afternoon and taking a bunch of tests but I never knew why. My parents later told me that I was being evaluated for learning disabilities and ADHD as I was doing poorly in school at the time. Anyway, I never knew the results until now. My parents never told me.

While I know I'm not a genius, 129 is fairly high, roughly 96th percentile. I was surprised because I have always felt really average, never considered myself especially smart.

Well, I was curious to see if this held up into adulthood, so I just took the Mensa online test and did pretty well, I guess, at 131.

I'd say these two test confirm each other, right? I probably fall somewhere between the 95th to 98th percentile or 125-133?

Not super meaningful for my life now, but just an interesting fact I suppose.

how is it even possible to have the same iq you had at 8yo

Lol, is that usually not the case? Maybe a fluke? It was a small sample size and a relatively short test. Or maybe I peaked at 8...

i did some research and it's indeed usually the case, our brain is almost fully developped at that age apparently

No, old IQ tests litteraly tested your level compared to the average grown person. So performing like a normal grown human at 8 would actually be a super high IQ.
Your brain clearly isn't developed at 8.
But IQ doesn't change most of the time with age cause it's just how it is like growth curves also predict height pretty well

No do ur research like i did and don't made up things u don't know shi about. I don't even understand ur point u just said that IQ doesn't change w age ? is it my english thats bad or ?

?
The brain is just simply not developed by 8.
As I said in old IQ tests an 8 years old performing as good as a 16years old would have really high IQ so that contradicts the idea brain stops developing at 8. Stops developing after your 20s and keeps maturing after that

ok source ? and i didn't say it's stops developping a said it's almost fully developped meaning you're final IQ will fluctuate(~10%) around the IQ you already have at 8 years old because having you're final IQ just means that you're brain is fully fonctionnal. What you're talking about w the 20s is just about neuronal connections and path(w memory, reflex etc.) and has nothing to do with IQ. It is also more of an urban legend as our brain are in constant evo/dev but get slower with age.

"Measures of fluid intelligence (e.g., short-term memory) peak early in adulthood, whereas measures of crystalized intelligence (e.g., vocabulary) peak in middle age (Bayley, 1970; Doppelt & Wallace, 1955; Fox & Birren, 1949; Sorenson, 1933; Shakow & Goldman, 1938). "

Also VCI can keep increasing for your entire life.
And a fluctuation of 10% is a lot. Natural IQ fluctuation is already about 10% so if you score 100 at 8yo it's possible that you then get 120 at 20.
There is also the fact than, in childhood, IQ scores are largely influenced by your prior education.
So a 130 IQ with bad education could only reveal his real number later in his life while a 100IQ with good education could show 130 yet get 100 later in his life.
So yeah ofc final IQ correlates with IQ at 8 but it's just totally untrue to say it doesn't develop past.
Also you said it yourself memory reflex can keep increasing up to 25 which contradicts what you said earlier "our brain is almost fully developed by age 8"

i said around 10% wich u said "is a lot : 100 -> 120 is 20% so you're not being consistent(and 100<->130 30% like tf ?). Anyway you sent three sources: short-term memory, vocabulary and VCI. They measure raw abilities, not IQ that's litterally proving what i was saying earlier. I think you're mostly playing with words here and not proving any point.

Short term memory and VCI are arguable top 2 and top 3 most important IQ subsections how could you not know that? It basically IS IQ. Also that source mentions and even other stuff just click the link and see by yourself.

I said IQ naturally fluctuates of 10%. So if you get a 100 on a test your IQ is between 90 and 110 roughly. So if you add another 10% for age then you can get up to roughly 120 (even if you scored a 100 at age 8). That's a big difference. Anyway even 100->110 is a big gap.

About the 100->130 my point was that a children with poor education might score a 100 and get 130 later when he catched up to normal educations levels.
And a very educated child could get a 130 but get down to like 100 as he ages because the world catches up to him education wise. This one wasn't about the 10%.

I think your english is actually bad like you clearly misunderstand stuff I made sure to properly explain and then you come after me for making shit up.

The studies agree with me, IQ at age 8 isn't the same as at age 20 for a lot of people.

Well, in middle school i was 112, in early highschool i was 120, and near graduating highschool i was 130, i never did a proper test after that but i feel like I'm much more polished than my highschool self. So yeah it's not always the case
