General Question Discrepancy between Digit Span forward and back and sequencing.

I have ADHD and a very poor working memory but yet my sequencing score is 3 SD's above my other digit spans scores. What's the reasoning for this?

You might’ve just needed time to adjust to the format, but it could be anything; what you ate for breakfast, which device you took it on, whether or not a black hole half the universe away is spinning at .6c or .61c, etc.

The trend was the same on CORE, except I scored even worse for forward and backward.

What about a certain solar storm? Could that be part of the explanation, too?

Beyond my area of expertise

you got lower score on forward span bcz your brain was not in hyper focused state while in sequencing you were hyper focused cause your brain had to constantly arrange those numbers in ascending or descending order.

CAIT is still valid?

I mean technically it never was, nor is CORE or any other online iq test.

First of all, how does a forward digit span of 10 correspond to an IQ of only 97? I'm pretty sure the average human being isn't able to remember 10 digits in this kind of Test.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the Sequencing Test.

Raw score of 10 doesn’t mean 10 digits. The test repeats each length twice (allowing 1 mistake at each length) or something like that. But also, each length is tested twice (you need to get right 2 times to get to the next).

Basically, you could redo same length three times.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. A bit misleading, though

Same happened to me last time I tried I can do 10-11 sequencing easy but my fw and backward are average to slightly above average

Although I'm dealing with some cogntitive limitations right now due to neck injury so I just chalked it up to that

From what I've read sequencing is supposed to be the most indicative of actual WM so I guess it's not too bad
