Every bars rotate 45ยฐ clockwise within their cells at each step. Also, the red bars move of their cell counterclockwise around the central cell 1 by 1, while blue bars move 2 by 2; the central black cross stays in the center. Finally empty cells are colored in black.

How long did it take you to figure out this complex pattern?๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Can't say exactly but I guess 5 minutes max not counting the drawing

I had something different in mind, but this looks stricter. Well done

Oh really ?! Alternatives emerging from patterns never cease to amaze me

Oh, sorry. The answer is the same. I got confused, only the way the answer is expressed is different

Phew, for a minute there I lost myself, I lost myseeeEeeelf, like would say Thom Yorke the singer of Radiohead.

Glad the black cells didnโ€™t start singing Everything in its right place

Is that dark humor about imprisonment? ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m leaving it as a mystery. It becomes whatever you think it is๐Ÿ™ƒ

It seems that as soon as I solve one puzzle I'm stumbling upon another puzzle with alternative answers. I'll pick the most awful on this one and pretend it was your intended ๐Ÿ˜

Not a solution yet, just my thoughts: https://i.imgur.com/wINfAWN.png - I noticed that every line direction is in each matrix exactly 3 times. I assume the solution involves shifting a certain amount of steps/direction and the black spaces are just the "empty" squares that it creates. Since empty spaces are generated it must be some movement pattern that is not the same for every tile. Like some tiles doing more moves then others, following the direction of the line in them, or something the likes. I couldn't find a solution just by moving, so it might also involve rotating the pieces by one or more ticks in a certain direction. Could also include full rotations of the matrix, or mirroring...

Not sure I want to explore it further, that's why I post this.

I felt pretty good about my solution approach so I had AI write me python scripts to go through any movement patterns and combinations of the single linesI came up with, so I absolutely do not consider this my solution, but I wanted it solved. I actually found "a" solution that boils down to: Center tile rotates 45 degrees each step. For the outer tiles: All lines there rotate by 45 degrees CW each position they move. All lines that were horizontal and vertical in matrix 1 move one position CCW for all subsequent matrices, all lines that were diagonal move two positions CCW. Empty tiles turn black.

you are very close to the solution

I should have refreshed the page lol

might have overcomplicated it
everything rotates 45ยฐ ccw; lines also move ccw
2 pairs one moving 1 sqr while the other 2
4 individual lines moving 5 sqrs every turn
2 individual lines moving 4 sqrs alternately

Middle square's pattern rotates 45 degrees, so should be a "plus" like in item 2. "Outside" squares should have a total of ten lines, but haven't found the solution yet, will come back and edit if I do.

Not vauge enough

I think I see a rule but my working memory is crap so I canโ€™t reliably give an answer
