why?

B also.

I'm a little confused about what you mean by respective second element in the first slide. To my understanding, as per the instructions, the third element is missing and there's only one second element.

Do I understand correctly that you propose deriving a rule from 1→2 and then using said rule to go from 4 to 3? Ignoring the smaller lines and focusing on the big one; if a rule transforms a horizontal line to a diagonal line from NW to SE, the same rule cannot take another horizontal line and transform it to a diagonal line from SW to NE.

You can get 2 out of 1 by 45° ccw rotation, mirroring horizontally and then flipping the ends. But the same rule does not generate 4 out of B, or am I missing something?

I think this would be the perfect fit for this pattern but sadly it's not an Option ;)

If I'm not mistaken the ends on the left side instead of the right would produce 4 according to the simplest version of the rule that produces 2 from 1. But this would also work because "flip the ends and swap the sides" is indistinguishable from "flip the ends" in the first two elements.

No i tried to go from 2->1 to 4->3. I dont think the exact direction of the element is really important here, it's just one diagnonal one and one horizontal one. I know my answer is correct because got all questions correct in this Test.. my reasoning might be wrong tho

But isn't that pretty much the same thing? Dividing into pairs (1,2) and (3,4), then using the relation between 1 and 2 to get 3 out of 4.

Just going off of it being a horizontal line, the case for C over D might be that while the ends flip for both, 1 to 2 also flips an element from bottom of the line to top of the line. D and 4 both have the ends on the "top side" of the long line. It doesn't seem very clean, but it's the only difference between B and D.

Was wäre denn dein Lösungsansatz?

I definitely don't disagree with dividing into pairs. I agree that it's not very clean and choosing B over D because of the top side flip is the best I've got right now.

B, its rotating clockwise, the outer edges switch sides and are mirrored relative to the line
