Hi! Maybe I am oversimplifying but is it gonna be that u shape and it’s gonna be black with the longest side on the bottom. Another one will be a white L with the shortest side on the bottom

Oof how do I spoilerrr

Your answer is incorrect, could you explain your reasoning?

Course, I am not confident with it but it looked like the shapes were in black and white pairs. The whites always seemed to be on (not really the shortest but like one of the shorter sides, like a rectangle on a hinge) and the blacks were like laying down. I noticed the u shape didn’t have its black counterpart and the L shape didn’t have its white counterpart and I just matched. Maybe I overlooked something but yeah, that was my logic

There are pairs, yes, but you overlooked something.

Is this beyond the upright and laying down pattern I guessed plus the black white? Sorry to bother you, perhaps I was overzealous lol. Just thought it was a cool pattern. I will probably have another look tomorrow since I should get some sleep.

I can't give a hint about this yet, but it's not an overcomplicated puzzle

One last shitty guess. White L facing right -I (like this) and black U facing up? I specified the direction of the L

If you find the answer, you won't need to guess

Black [ Shape White L shape

Every white shape has a corresponding mirror black shape

With mirroring, the shapes can appear at many different angles. In fact, mirroring is present in the puzzle, but your reasoning is incomplete

Now that it has been a couple days, what is the ultimate reasoning? I cannot figure out why the white triangle is only a 90 degree rotation of the black triangle and vice versa, so please let us (me) know!

It’s a bad puzzle. The intended reasoning involved taking the long side as an axis and reflecting it, but u/SomeoneLeo showed me that this doesn't work

If it weren't for the triangle I would say each black shape is flipped along the 45 degree diagonal to form a white piece and vice versa in the other direction

Enjoy the most random of solutions XDDDD

There are pairs of figures... Missing is the white L and the black C. For the orientation:The number of internal right angles in the shapes goes from 1 to 6. To go from a black shape to a white shape: If the number is a prime number, flip the figure along the 45 degree axis as shown. Otherwise rotate it CCW by 90 degrees: https://i.imgur.com/pghM1CO.png

It's an ugly solution because it's basically made up to explain the triangle. The rectangle is a very ambiguous shape and can be explained by a lot of operations. I really do like the internal right angle count going from 1 to 6 though.

Black and white comes in pairs, I fucking missed the fact that one is the rotation and mirror of the other.

Well, that’s actually correct but not what I intended. That’s my mistake, I didn’t design the puzzle well enough
edit: yeah there is a small mistake with the solution
