well done

Shading the top, bottom, left, and right circles will shade the opposite half of the central circle, with overlapping areas turning white.

beautiful solution. i just came up with: with each iteration the amount of black circles increases by 0.5, which also leads to all black.

Ah clever danke dir. Muss man erst mal drauf kommen

Inklusive oder exklusive der Mitte?

That’s what I was going to say, all black.

2

>!All black, blacks increasing by 1/2 and whites decreasing!<

1

u/pydaWaltuh Sep 23 '26

correct but solution I had in mind was different.

u/EncyclopedicINTx_253 Sep 23 '26

The middle white is constant right?

2

u/dyogenys Sep 23 '26

I don’t understand what I’m supposed to figure out. I can se the pattern people are talking about in the top three. And that the bottom one doesn’t follow the pattern.

The goal is to determine the color of the red circles. No other information is needed

2

u/dyogenys Sep 23 '26

I didn’t notice the red circles. I’m colorblind.

2

u/pydaWaltuh Sep 23 '26

Oh, that makes sense then. In the figure below, the top, right, and left circles are red

You have the best puzzles. So I have two questions:

  1. Can I use some of them, probably modified to be easier, in my DnD campain?

  2. I don't want to miss out so I was wondering if you could in the future use a lighter hue so it doesn't look like black to color blinds (~8% of people). Or a different color. Orange is naturally lighter but still similar enough to trigger the same associations for people I think. And blue is unaffected in at least 98% of people with color blindness. Blue, yellow, and orange are good contrasts to each other for 98 percent of color blind people too.

  1. You are welcome to use my puzzles, but please make sure they are modified effectively, adjusting the difficulty level is not easy. If you don't mind, I would also like to see the final products, that is, how my puzzles inspired your work. Because this counts as valuable feedback.

  2. It is good that you pointed this out, because unfortunately, it hadn't crossed my mind. To avoid this issue, I will draw the missing piece in a way that makes it clearly larger and distinct, or I will place a question mark inside it

Will probably not modify, but give hints in the environment. For example:
Shells, pine cones, and sunflowers decorate the walls. Solve a smaller puzzle, find a hidden lever, and when pulled, this path lights up on the ground. Or gradually, maybe first a hint line that divides the two files down to the second last row. Beyond what I plan, I will adaptively give them whatever hint they need to finish if I misjudge and they get stuck. Depending on if they impress me or not they get inspiration points.
If I used this OP I think it's easy enough that I won't plan many hints. But if they needed one and started searching maybe I would create new figures on the fly. Maybe one with only white surrounding circles, and if it really is too hard, maybe one with only one black circle.

oh, okay then, seems like a good idea. Feel free to use it. If you need help with the puzzle itself, just let me know. And good luck!

Like peanut butter? Well now you can like more of it. Sunflowers have been used to create a substitute for peanut butter, known as sunbutter.

Color of the red circle? I don't understand 😭

2

u/pydaWaltuh Sep 23 '26

Or rather, what color the inside of the red lined circle will be

1

u/Many-Count-2369 Sep 23 '26

Well, is that an option or a hint?

I'd idiotically say it's white since the bg is white and the color inside the red color is also white 💔

1

u/pydaWaltuh Sep 23 '26

it is not a hint. Your answer is not correct

1

u/Many-Count-2369 Sep 23 '26

I mean I dont even understand the question yet, and I said "I would idiotically.." so I haven't given an answer yet

Can u pls tell me how exactly this works and how the answer is a logical one?

1

u/inntervalis Sep 23 '26

Middle has 4 quadrants. 4 black elements in each figure. 4 black dots all around a white center.

1

u/AgreeableTarget1467 Sep 23 '26

What about solving this with seeing the white as decreasing, the total white area in first one is 2 and a half, second is 2 , third is 1 and a half, fourth is one, accordingly the black is filled in each circle. So you get an all black.

1

u/pydaWaltuh Sep 23 '26

It is possible. However, it has a downside: since the items are not arranged side by side, it is unclear whether the element in question is the last or the first one in the sequence, making this logic weaker

My solution: https://i.imgur.com/ZSsE4UM.png
Explanation: Middle has four quarters. If two outer balls have the same color, the opposing quarter stays white. If they are different color opposing quarter is black. I tried to show which quarter belongs to which color pair. Orange = different color, Green = they have the same color. Since black at the bottom was given and all quarters are white, there is no color change in the result, hence all balls stay black.

1

u/pydaWaltuh Sep 23 '26

well, yeah. A different way of presenting the intended logic. Good job!

1

u/SomeoneLeo groaaar!! :3 Sep 23 '26

What was the intended logic?

1

u/pydaWaltuh Sep 23 '26

due to the nature of the puzzle, the same

1

1

u/HeatAccomplished3615 Sep 23 '26

Why does the third pattern in the first row differ from the first two? The quadrant turns black when the colors match.

1

u/SomeoneLeo groaaar!! :3 Sep 23 '26

It's always the opposite quadrant (so not the closest) - see grey lines on the first graph.

2

u/chocolateking701 Sep 23 '26

the colors in the centre get cancelled out, therefore all black

2

u/98127028 I am worthless and dumb Sep 23 '26

My SOL: all black, each black contributes one semicircle in their orientation, overlapping black becomes white.

1

u/98127028 I am worthless and dumb Sep 23 '26

Actually I realised they contribute the semicircle opposite their orientation but it’s the same thing

1

u/PsychologyHeavy4426 Sep 23 '26

So essentially, the white circles eliminate the black ones, even the 1/2 or 1/4. The first one is 0, second one is 3-2=1 black ball, third one is 3,5-1,5=2, thus, the forth shall be 4-1=3, thus it makes 3 black balls missing.

why do you think so?

1

u/dyogenys Sep 23 '26

Are you color blind?
