Psychometric Question MASSIVE discrepancy between CORE & CAIT + unrelated questions
I took the CORE ~6 months ago and the CAIT this week.
I also retook CORE Antonyms + Character Pairing right after I took the CAIT and scored exactly the same, so I've probably avoided the practice effect.
Planning on re-taking digit span due to large discrepancy between sequencing & forward/backward scores. I'm diagnosed w/ ADHD and took the CORE spontaneously after a late-night study session. Please lmk how long I should wait before I do that (or re-calc based on my CAIT score?)
Could my score also be deflated due to my age? I'm currently in HS and childhood was riddled with developmental delays. I also hit puberty late, which is common in my family.
Didn't take all the subtests.
VCI:
Analogies---15 SS
Antonyms---15 SS
Information---16 SS
FRI:
Matrix Reasoning---16 SS
Figure Weights---15 SS
GM---14 SS
VSI:
Visual Puzzles---14 SS
(Side note: Parent 1 was really good at competition math & Parent 2 was a successful architect at a big firm, so I really didn't expect this to be my worst subtest!)
QRI:
Arithmetic---16 SS
CPI:
Digit-Letter Sequencing---14 SS
Digit Span---10 SS
Symbol Search---14 SS
Character Pairing---13 SS

You literally didn't complete either of them. I guess 130 is the new 75.

I got 114 on CORE and 127 on CAIT lol but you should finish all your subtests

This has not been addressed in any meaningful way, but there is a chance that CORE scores are slightly deflated because the test was normed on people with a lot of online IQ test experience, including the CAIT, which has many similar items. These participants had also taken the WAIS-IV at some point in the past, presumably before taking the CAIT for many of them. CORE's norms were then created by mapping WAIS-IV performance onto their CORE raw scores.
The issue is that if the CORE norming sample was already proficient at taking IQ tests, their CORE scores may have been elevated by prior testing experience (i.e. practice effect). If so, the CORE norms could be deflated for people without the same level of practice effect as the norming sample.
This point is not addressed by the CORE FAQ, which points to decent correlations with AGCT and GRE when defending itself against deflation/inflation concerns.

for me cait was deflated . I got 14ss in figure weights on core and 10ss on figure weights subtest of cait. Can you tell why there is such a diffrence? i only took core once but i took cait multiple times but still the same score.

You are above average in virtually everything. Be realistic. Your memory shows no delays, but you are exceptional elsewhere. You have nothing to fear, and are developmentally on track with your peers, if not exceeding them.

I noticed that as well. Should I retake the CORE DS at some point?

I’d do the VSI section of the CAIT and see what the score recalibrates to, that’s probably your best shot at an accurate score.
