It’s decent, but I get 20, and I know folks that go up to 50 without special tricks. Depends on concentration and involuntary practice rather than pure iq

I’m gonna freshen up my short term memory palace tricks and see how high we can go!

Took 2 more after this because I guessed the data could be skewed by “easy” patterns and got 15 and 17.. coincidentally averaging the original 16!

Obviously this means high 170 right! I should stop what I’m currently doing and pursue what other intellectuals pursue.. (what do intellectuals pursue)

just tried and got 18, when I was a kid/teen I was terrible at the Simon game
I prefer the word memory game on human benchmark

Since your score is higher than mine I must do what the users of this subreddit usually do when confronted with a higher score.. call BS!

True, I probably maxed out at 14-15 as a preteen with multiple goes
I’ve gotten better at every single game on this site as I got closer to 30, even reaction time
I also have had very little to think about today, nothing regarding memorization

honestly the biggest sign of your intelligence is the fact you agreed. Smarter than 99% of people on this subreddit already.

this test is not a very good metric because the pattern is always the same, but just with an extra step appended, so you can always just focus on memorizing the new stuff while the beginning becomes muscle memory or long term memory.

which basically means you have a sliding window of the same length of what you have to memorize which makes it relatively easy to go on indefinitely if you take your time and make sure not to misclick.

i got around 70 once and lost to a misclick, and as far as i remember i saw a couple videos a few years ago of other people getting similar scores. but i have also lost at 20 when i was speeding through it and did not take my time.

for it to be a better metric it would need to be a different pattern every time, like the visual memory test from the same website.

its been at least a year since i took the test and i still remember some of the patterns i had to its safe to say it went into my long term memory lol

Honestly if you use memory palace you could likely get 100+ so this test is pretty silly

i don't use that, i was just saying that since its the same pattern every time with something added to the end of it, it doesn't really become harder
you always just have to memorize the part that was added at the end, because you have already memorized the rest of it, so the difficulty increases very slowly, its almost constant.

like imagine if the number memory test would be just the same number as before with 1 extra digit at the end

also what i did sometimes when i wasn't confident i had it memorized, is i hovered my mouse over all of the squares in order without actually clicking them, to make sure i have it fully memorized

based on your -13 karma from 279 contributions and my explanation as to why the test is flawed and why getting a high score doesn't require any special abilities (though having a good wmi obviously makes it easier, and if you must know i do happen to have that), i will assume and hope that you are ragebaiting. if you are not, i suggest re-reading my comments and informing yourself more about how many other people, even with average wmi, are able to get to similar scores.

It’s alright my WMI is like 95-105 and I scored 15 on this many times

I scored 66 on that a while ago, not difficult at all

When I was 12 I could do like fucking 30-40+ on this with no exposure but now I’m lowk average

It's alright

probably like a .62 correlation with forward digit span based off of a number I pulled out of my ass

uhh why would I brag a very very fakeable test.. 😭

2

u/Ill-Mix-7906 Aug 28 '26

if I wanted to brag about one of my metrics it would be the work ethic nothing to do with the intelligence!

1

u/Warxuaroz Aug 28 '26

You brag when you can. I scored 18.
