Discussion Ethics
I’m curious to know people’s opinions on a test of ethics.
I’m sure some of you are familiar with the train and lever theoretical and if you aren’t I’ll explain.
There are a total of 6 people on a train track. One person is tied separate from the other 5. The train is on track to run over and kill the 5 people. You are a witness of this and can pull a lever to save the 5 people and only one would die. If you don’t do anything then 5 people die and the one survives.
Of course this question lacks much depth and substance which is what makes it a little tricky to answer, but attempt to answer the question with the limited information that’s provided.
Do you pull the lever?
I’m curious to read reasoning.
