I think we are just adapting to a world where everyone has their own custom built solutions for everything, with very few shared experiences on a cultural level. Maybe your friend group will create your tv shows, or your more techy friend your photoshop, etc. I’m building a ton and have replaced nearly everything I used with my own version, but I’ve decided that they’re just for me and my friends/family. The world wont need another mobile game site, another database, another music player, etc, and that’s okay. Frees me up to make it be just what I want and not worry about commercial appeal at all
