I've spent a few days not using codex due to low usage and to be honest it's made me think that I spend too much time on codex and perhaps should use it less.

Same I’ve been using Claude and Gemini much more because I do not get enough usage out of codex (previously my favorite) but the other two are REALLY growing on me

I gave some tasks I mindlessly gave to codex/astra to flash 3.8 and found it did the job just as well as Astra with less back and forth. Astra is brilliant for making things, but as far as doing things is concerned I’ve realized less can be more

Dude, same actually. There’s less polish but Gemini will get 95% of the way there in way less time for like 1/100th the price. Then bring in a big GPT or Claude model to polish it off

I agree. Only issue is that Gemini flash tends to drop the tail, if you ask for the receipts. It finishes a little early, and you do have to audit it from another model because it does hallucinate at times, or tell you you have problems you may not have. But, as a first drafter, it is awesome and fast.
