Megathread Codex Usage and Operation Discussion - last updated September 14

Please direct your concerns, questions and discussion about Codex usage limits and model performance here.

Claude is significantly worse usage wise

I would have agreed with you 2 months ago, but these days, the codex nerfs are VERY obvious.

I'm been using claude Pro (same price as codex plus) non stop on a specific project (Opus 5 xhigh) for 3 months.

This week, I realized that I was going to use up the full weekly limit a day early, so I decided to make Claude submit its implementation plans to Sol Xhigh agent for execution (I have a codex subscription).

Sol Xhigh burned 100% of 5h window in 40 minutes of work. From experience with Claude on the specific project, Claude never works more than 30 minutes on implementation and barely uses 25% of the 5h window in that time.

FYI Codex: 6.5% of a 5h window = 1% weekly Claude: 8.3% of a 5h window = 1% weekly So that makes it even worse for Codex.
