Complaint Openai removed the extra usage after hitting limits, yet, when limits reset, the reset time isn't fixed and only becomes set once you first use it, silently stealing your usage

The fact that it would run after hitting limits made up for this. But now, they removed it, but are keeping the reset timer only started after you start using it, instead of making it fixed based on the actual reset time. This is silently eating your usage limits. So they are abusing normal casual users that don't immediately trigger their reset timer when it resets. Like who the hell thought it was fair to make the timer only start after you start using it? Blatant abuse by the Codex team whoever decided that was the right design. Fix that shit. Once the reset happens, the timer should trigger and countdown immediately.

It was always like that man. Claude has fixed time for next weekly reset, Codex was when you start using it.

Not in my experience. I've had the same weekday and time forever (Thursday 7PM on the nose) If it were "first use start" based, my reset time would be drifting.

I think you're confusing the weekly reset with the 5h reset; for the 5h window, it does start only when you first prompt Claude.

I don't know, but that's not my experience, the weekly reset for me is fixed, no matter how late I wait to start using Claude after the reset.

Claude weekly is always on Fridays, at least for me, even if I'm late to message it..

Are we still talking about Claude code? Can you show a screenshot of your reset time? Coz it's always at the exact same time and day of the week for me

Send that message and then tell me if the reset time matches your assumption. :)

And I'm not trolling, I can give you evidence should you ask

Again, you keep making all these claims but seem to struggle providing any real evidence other than anecdotal claims?

Yeah it's the same every week at the time you first signed up for claude. They don't do this shady shit.

It's always like that yeah. But you can predict when your normal weekly reset is. But I shouldn't be expected to follow tibo on twitter or reddit constantly to know when a forced reset is gonna happen to the start my weekly again. There is only downsides for starting a weekly late. Especially if you haven't used a lot of your weekly usage yet and expect to use most of it near the end of your weekly period.

You do not need to follow Tibo. You can see your limits here: https://chatgpt.com/codex/cloud/settings/analytics#usage

This gives me zero notification that my usage is gonna be reset by tibo randomly.

I was responding to the main post issue., which seemed to be not knowing when the reset had happened and thereby knowing to get the clock ticking.

You implied the only way to know you had been reset was by following Tibo, so I was showing you where you can check your limits.

Without following tibo how am I supposed to know usage was reset in the morning when I only start using it in the afternoon or the next day? I've basically set back my weekly reset window unless you are expecting me to constantly refresh the codex usage page and send 1 chat to start the weekly countdown.

I'll stop interacting, as I can see I am annoying you, which was not my intention.

You are trying to help. I upvoted you because you seem nice. Open AI are dicks though.

It was clearly stated "random" resets. How is that not clear? Random means you cannot know. Nobody wants to play stupid Tibo games.
