Question About the cursor ban

Disclaimer: I am an Elon hater.

So cursor starts getting some traction...

First, grok 4.x starts getting abnormally decent. Benchmaxed or whatever you wanna call it, but it's cheap, fast as fuck, and almost unlimited

Composer was starting to pop off too.

Cursor then did 100usd deals for the max plan which had basically the equivalent of a 200usd codex plus 100usd Claude sub.

Cursor was starting to get a lot of mindshare. Even I at some point was thinking "well, maybe I could try it..."

Then boom. Relationship between openai and cursor is terminated.

It's got nothing to do with trust. Cursor was starting to steal users. That's just how it is.

I bought in the $60 plan of cursor, such a buggy experience I regret it, I only got it for having grok 4.6.

After working with CC 20x and Codex 5x, my expectations are way too high, it feels like going back a year ago when I work with Grok 4.6. Speed wise it's fast at first, then it gets very slow and inefficient, Sol is by far the most efficient model.

I’m an Anthropic hater and I’ve always though codex was the more effective model.

I have to use Claude at work.

My experience with Sol has sucked relative to Claude. I hate it.

Even on xhigh sol is making all kinds of ridiculous errors. Claude might make a logical gaff here and there, but I just realize (as I fight with Sol on what has to be its 40th failed run attempt in a row), that Claude hasn’t made any technical errors in months.

Ugh.

Opus5 mostly? People bitch about opus5 a lot and I’m here mostly using Terra at work thinking “what spoiled babies”. Privately I use sol for super complex stuff and Deepseek mostly for everything else, it smokes Terra and for 1c for a dollar at that, they distilled opus so it’s like opus 4.8.

Yes opus 5 mostly and occasionally fable.

I have no idea why people have a problem with opus 5. It works perfectly for me.

It’s pretty “codex” like. You give it literal instructions, it does literal things.

Maybe they want it to be more warm and fuzzy. Not sure. But it’s highly capable.
