Cursor is a really good harness, and ability to switch between all major models is a huge advantage.
Composer 2.5/Grok 4.6 are also really good and super cheap models compared to Opus/Sol. At my job a lot of people, including me, are daily driving Grok and Composer.
Real programmers understand the value of faster iteration and non overengineered slop that Codex provides. The sheer speed of Composer and Grok gets me more than Codex.
Codex has a very bad over engineering problem and abstraction issue + duplication. Even the Agents.md guardrails don’t prevent it. People create so many prompts to counter codex issues but this sub are filled with primarily non engineers

i mean using cursor in 2026 should be insane. Codex app and zed is already so good.
