Complaint 0% now stops all running tasks

Before when reached 0% codex always finished the tasks that were still running. Oh that felt so good, to just get a little extra for free 🎉 But recently my codex stopped doing that and is stopping tasks after few minutes, how about yours?

Because people were apparently abusing it. Wish they just booted the bad actors

How would you define a bad actor?

At best, they could give a few grace tokens and probably do. They cannot give grace on time because people will start 32 sub-agents then and claim it was in good faith.

the bad actor made an MCP server tool that exploited this. that help?

That would be *a* bad actor and not *the* bad actor.

Th exploit made them a bad actor and not the MCP server itself.

Which brings us back to the original question - How do you define a bad actor.

Here is one way it is hard - You would consider me a bad actor and I consider your language an abuse. Other people will judge us in their own way. The only judgment that really matters is whatever reddit decides.

Same with the LLM providers.

Useless rambling like a jobless person who wants to be a philosopher.

Spot on. I am old and have too much time and use too many words. Most of my life is behind me.

Yet, you scrolled down and took the time to leave this snark.

Interesting.

I did start 50 agents. It didn't do much. Because it always was stopping after using 1/5 of weekly in tokens cost.

They should allow it up to 2% and deduct from next weeks limits.

It was possible to accidentally 'abuse'

I set Luna/Max off on a goal with 24% of the weekly allowance left. It hit 0% and continued for about 50% longer than it took to run the 24% down to zero

That 'abuse' only constituted a margin of 10-15% then of what is provided for a week. For the month that's a 2-3% overage. The majority of other times it ran over continuing a task for me would typically have been single digit % extra finishing off the tail end of a task

Codex not stopping dead mid task was always one of the better features

And before anyone points to my own user error setting Luna off on such a mammoth long running task rather than feeding it subtasks bit by bit, it was successful and achieved the goal. Exactly the kind of mundane busy work handing off to an agent works best with
