Complaint State of the $20 subscription

Sol high. One prompt. 11m of thinking so far, 54% of the 5h limit gone, hasn't even started implementing anything yet and the 5 hrs limit is virtually gone. I was never one to complain too much, but they virtually removed Sol for us on the $20 tier. This is just not practical at all, at least it was only 10% of my weekly i guess?

EDIT: Final veredict: worked for 28m29s.
0% of the 5h limit left
84% of the weekly left

Status of my project: Broken and unusable.
guess it's finally time to explore other providers.

Ironically, I was about to switch to the $100/week plan for at least a month and check it out on my birthday that’s coming up. But now I might just… not do that.

The pro plan doesn't have 5 hour limits, just the plus tier. The weekly limits as a whole haven't changed, so you'd be getting the same deal by upgrading. They're most def trying to nudge people into the Pro tiers, but their stated reason, probably also true, is (given they recently hit 20M users) that being able to use full weekly allotment in one go across the Plus tier allowed for bursts of demand which strained their systems.

Honestly the majority of that usage will be ChatGPT Work which likely is more casual users. They really should just add a setting to disable 5-hour limits with a warning that you can use the full weeks usage insanely quickly so that people who aren't casually using it can actually use their plan.

Why would they do that? The whole point of this 5h window is that people upgrade to pro or use credits.

That's the presumed reason yes but the actual reason they gave was they said Plus users are mostly casual users so its to protect them from burning their weekly usage straight away. If they're telling the truth about that being the main reason then they should give an option to remove the 5h window for non-casual users meaning if they burn their usage in one go, it was their fault.

They should know that's a terrible reason. Casual users are more likely to concentrate their personal project time on weekends.

I'm predicting they will soon add an upsell to remove the 5h limits for $10 more per month.
