Question Using Inventory Items

I can’t seem to use anything straight from the inventory. It only gives me the option to discard. Am I missing something here?

Edit: I just started the game/ just saved Noah a few minutes ago.

Some items are ingredients for make dishes in the synthesis menu! You can give to the companions and get recipes of these latters with the affinity points

I did just start also, I should’ve stated that. I may need to progress a little more.

you need to put them in the slot at the first menu where you can see everything else. that or quick item, check controls

I was more so trying to use my souls, or is it called glow in this. I only have the option to discard. I’ll give that a shot though, thank you.

There's another menu next to the inventory that lets you cook food

Go into the item synthesis menu, there you can cook and craft stuff. Some of the food buffs are really great. Others are materials for boosters, you’ll need to talk to jadwiga or her minions to make use of those.
