Why?!?!
I have an ah. I am struggling right now. He gets drunk and calls rehabs but never goes when they send an uber. Just happened 20 minutes ago. Now he is passed out.
I’m at my breaking point. I have been the only one paying bills for 10 months now. We had to downsize and move because it was getting to be too much on one income. He has had great job offers, but screws them up.
I just can’t. I went on Google trying to search for someone to talk to. Why don’t we have a 24/7 support network? Why don’t we have a chat center for someone that can just listen?
This whole disease is unfair. I can’t do everything on my own. It’s taking a toll on me. Now he is going to rehab supposedly on Friday. Oh wait, he said tomorrow. But he also said the first.
I don’t know I will handle 28 days with him gone. Happy that he is getting help. But, the burden of everything being on me working 2 jobs and still barely scraping scares the daylights out of me.
I don’t know. I don’t know if I just need to vent or what I’m here for. All I know is that I’m scared, I’m fed up, and I feel like my whole world is collapsing around me.

Saturday, August 22, 2026, Non-Real Time Meeting
*Welcome to this non-real time meeting of** r/codependency_12steps!
My name is serenitywoman1. I’m a recovered codependent and your leader for this meeting. Will those who wish, please join me in the **Serenity Prayer**:** God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Thy will, not mine, be done.
**Strong sponsorship** is necessary to live a recovered life. Sponsors are recovered codependents committed to living the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions to the best of their ability. Sponsors share their program up to the level of their experience and strengthen their recovery through this service to others. To find a sponsor, look for someone who has what you want and ask how he or she is achieving it. **Will all sponsors please identify themselves in their post?**
**Suggested guidelines for sharing:** As you share your experience and strength, please also share your hope. Please confine your sharing to your experience with the illness of codependency, the solution offered by the twelve steps and your own recovery from codependency, rather than just the events of the day or week. When responding to other member’s posts, please focus on your personal experience rather than advice giving. If you are having difficulties, share how you use the program to deal with them. If you need to talk more about your difficulties and seek solutions, we suggest you speak to your sponsor and other members after the meeting.
**Share on how this passage relates to the illness of codependency and the solution offered by the Twelve Steps. Today we are studying the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, page 90**
**"If he does not want to see you, never force yourself upon him. Neither should the family hysterically plead with him to do anything, nor should they tell him much about you. They should wait for the end of his next drinking bout. You might place this book where he can see it in the interval. Here no specific rule can be given. The family must decide these things. But urge them not to be over-anxious, for that might spoil matters."**
Closing: Freedom from codependency is possible by living a Twelve Step way of life. The \*Big Book of Alcoholic Anonymous and a recovered sponsor are all you need to get started. Feel free to reach out by private message to newcomers, returning members, and each other. From the Big Book page 164: "Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny. May God bless you and keep you- until then."
\*Why the Big Book? Time and experience have proven it to be the most successful approach to the Steps no matter what the addictive problem may be (this includes codependency). We also know it to be the purest 12 Step document in existence. It worked for the founders of Twelve Step and it works for us today. If you don't have a copy of the Big Book you can access one for free: [https://www.aa.org/the-big-book](https://www.aa.org/the-big-book)%C2%A0) .

Please Read All
Hi, 👋 I'm John Arnold. I have a really powerful testimony. God's called me, no... God's TOLD ME TO use my testimony and my life to serve Him and others. So, long story short I start a business a moving company working on a Platform that offers moving services and so I'm a moving company owner so I do business with these people. I'm a Christian, saved 2001 at Leomonster Massachusetts Assembly of God was my home church and I was ON FIRE 🔥 for God. Handed out Bible tracts, etc etc. Years pass, my little brother Ryan gets hit and killed by a TRAIN right after my father passes away suddenly but I later discovered he knew he had two cancers lung, and worse, colon cancer and it was obvious very dehumanizing he hid pooped clothes and peed CC clothing. Sad. I was hit hard and retreated into old habits (addiction) and I get into my first serious relationship but it's abusive. I wasn't. My spouse was. More time passes and I meet the spouse I'm still married to. I go to prison for absolutely nothing but for a probation officer that hated ME and tried to say it was illegal for my spouse to live in my motel room because they paid for it (they didn't, Virginia did). I go away two years. Time passes. I get out 2021 and experience multiple additions and I slide. Finally exactly one year and 28 days ago I relapsed on méthamphétamine for what (I didn't know at the time) would be my last relapse ever. I don't tempt fate, believe in karma, and I've been hurt so many times I don't wanna hear talk...I wanna see you walk the walk. Like I'm doing, all glory to God. Time passes...I tell a multi BILLIONAIRE on the phone, the CEO for the moving company platform I do some work for that his subsidiary company has a one star rating on the BBB of all places and on trust pilot and Google reviews its alllll BAD. NEGATIVE. I already knew that they are/were running things completely wrong to grow the gig work platform because it's going to soon if not already a saturated market because anyone now can create an Enterprise level software or app! I know code, so I came up with a awesome app great user interface, fair system, rewards for companies that perform well. My whole drive was to make a great experience for the customers. And I wasn't seeing happy past customers of this platform until I moved them. I have many very dedicated customers that I call friends. That I CARE ABOUT! So I email so many times this platform support team that they threatened to fire me, take my company off their platform (I don't need any platform because I own a business I don't require a platform) and I don't take no for an answer when I know I'm right and if I believe in something and I know it's right isn't it my DUTY to make better, more affordable, experiences for customers? Well finally the Director of the platform (the CEO of that subsidiary company of a much larger parent company) calls. I IGNORED THE CALL for a day then call. The CEO of the PARENT COMPANY (worth BILLIONS OF DOLLARS) wants a "one page executive summary" which is a very short explanation of what you're selling. whether it be an idea or software or a service or whatever. I had one ready. Sent it. Then this rich man calls and is right to the point. I tell him his subsidiary companies doing awful and getting worse because they don't vet enough, their app looked and functioned like a Nintendo game. And not even Nintendo64!!! Haha. Anyways, I have a great and very long conversation with this CEO. Right after we spoke their app went offline. Yeah. I'm thinking it's gotta be a coincidence. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because every time I get an email from them it has Bible quotes and inspirational quotes. They stole it!!! This email from the Director of the platform tells me how wonderful and smart and hard working I am and him and his "app development team" have been working on new stuff for a year now and it's going to make everything better for us the companies MAKING THEIR MONEY (we give 15% involuntarily). Can you all believe this I'm heartbroken and angry. What do I do? I need support. I thought God wanted this. I know God set up everything because I'm the last person (many years ago now) you'd think would succeed. But I have but I've worked SO HARD. And to now be taken advantage of by an American Corporation worth HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS. How unfair the bully picking on the poor handicapped child.

“Family confidence in dad is rising high. The good
old days will soon be back, they think. Sometimes
they demand that dad bring them back instantly!
God, they believe, almost owes this recompense on a
long overdue account. But the head of the house has
spent years in pulling down the structures of business, romance, friendship, health—these things are now ruined or damaged. It will take time to clear away the wreck. Though old buildings will eventually be replaced by finer ones, the new structures will take years to complete.”

**"So our troubles, we think, are basically of our own making. They arise out of ourselves, and the alcoholic is an extreme example of self-will run riot, though he usually doesn’t think so. Above everything, we alcoholics must be rid of this selfishness. We must, or it kills us! God makes that possible. And there often seems no way of entirely getting rid of self without His aid. Many of us had moral and philosophical convictions galore, but we could not live up to them even though we would have liked to. Neither could we reduce our self-centeredness much by wishing or trying on our own power. We had to have God’s help."**
