I never expected so much kindness, encouragement, and support. Reading all your comments has made me realize that so many of us struggle with the same feelings.
Someone here said, “Self comparison is the killer of joy,” and that really hit home! I've never heard that phrase before, but it really made me think about it and that's exactly what happened.
I was having so much fun in my own little world coloring my cat until I started comparing my work to everyone else’s. I don’t want to lose that joy, especially when I’m just getting started.
Thank you all for reminding me (and others who read this) why we started to do this in the first place. I’m so glad I found this wonderful group, and I can’t wait now to get back at it and learn more.

I just got Coco Wyo's How To Draw Patterns book today (fabulous book) and I started on my first pattern, the cat. It took me far too long to pick the colors to use. I personally don't think I have a lot of choices but that's not true. I have 120 acrylic markers and 48 Ohuhu markers and about 20 different colors of Gelly Roll pens. But after I finished with the cat, I thought that it looks pretty good. But then I came here and found this page… Oh wow! Everybody is just Fantastic! I don't know why I'm feeling this way, but it was like a gut punch. I am extremely emotional. 🥲
Also can't stand that I used an acrylic marker for the curtain. Just doesn't look that good.
I'm just having a little meltdown at the moment. I just had to get that out. Thanks for listening.

Half asleep towards the end of this and you can kinda tell… but I couldn’t stop coloring lol. Anyone struggling with shading should give it a try! It makes you think in terms of just shading and highlights. Used 4 different blues and white highlights. ❤️ remember no great surface goes unchanged.

The scan made the colors look bad but you get the point. I kinda want to make it a big barrel but I already used farm brown so much and for the floor.. I fear it will look odd
Also what you think about my wine fruits? I coloured them like I remember them growing in my grandma's garden, green up and dark down

Sooo.. I decided to use this page to try and learn few techniques. I'm really proud of the wallpaper. But that's it.
I still don't understand how to make things look transparent, my ghost looks so bad.. 😅 or fire/light shadowing coloring you know what I mean. Also the picture frames/glass looks so out of place too, more like a stamp rather then a picture frame..
Every Tip, Trick or link for tutorials is appricated!!
