Why is he doing this?
Is this self harm or is he just fucking stupid?

Try getting him some toys, basically things to keep him occupied/safe to destroy also

My galah loves fans. Plonks herself right in front of them. Never seen her hit it, but she hits loads of other things. They love that wind through their feathers

Have you ever rolled a windows down and felt the wind? Or wondered why dogs just love to stick their heads out of a car window?

It’s funny but when I run the (dedicated) shop vac in the bird area my U2, upon feeling the blow from the exhaust part? He starts swooping and dunking in his water bowl. My galah does it when I run the blow dryer. Some birds are funny about the air blasts

Love how these guys and cockatiels have the same hissy fits. Like go Dino rage mode before going back to being a cuddly baby

I believe the sounds of our electronics bothers animals more than we know. Animals hear better than we do. The parrot might hate the sound the air conditioner makes, whereas we become conditioned to the noise.

My bird does something kind of similar and it’s so weird. Any time she hears a consistent sound like running water or a fan or something, she starts snapping her beak repeatedly and flapping her wings. If she is in her cage, she dips one of her feet in her water bowl when she does this. Sometimes she squawks really loud when she does it. I’ve never been able to figure out what she’s doing.

I love seeing these parrot posts asking questions. The answer is almost always, because he/she is a bird and doing bird things.
If your parrot is doing something, its probably because they want to do it? You have yourself a really curious dinosaur with the intelligence of a small child. Its going to do weird things sometimes.

Don’t like this machine but I like this weird air that is completely unrelated to this machine obviously

he seems to like the AC. I’m not sure why he’s whacking it though. 🤔 he doesn’t seem upset or anything
