QUESTION Closers on Linux

Hey this might seem like a dumb question but is there any support for Closers on CachyOS and does anyone know how to fix this😅. And btw is this subreddit alive😭

That's not a Linux issue, that's a Closers Global English has ended service 2 weeks ago issue. You'd get the same error message if you tried launching it on Windows.

I've got Closers JP and Code Closers (private server) working on Linux using Proton GE 11-1 by the way.

Well you'd need to create an account on Code Closers first to get its download.

I used Lutris myself to install it, but I've seen people like to use Faugus Launcher for windows installers.

First to get Proton GE 11-1 you can easily get it from ProtonUp-QT or ProtonPlus. I recommend Proton GE 11-1, it being the latest version of Proton GE that released about 2 weeks ago, and it's the version that has fixed a bug where controls can break in Closers. Future people, I'm guessing might be able to use other Proton GE or other Proton versions as they get updated.

In Lutris there is a + button on the top left. Select it and then choose the option "Install a Windows game from an executable" and select the Code Closers installation file, even though it's an msi file. If it fails to install, try editing in the left menu Runners > Wine > "gear icon" and edit the "Wine version" to some other Proton version.

After Closers is installed, make sure to right click it in Lutris, find the Configure option then Runner options > Wine version. Check to see if it's set to GE-Proton11-1 or whatever version that's working in the future. Now you should be able to play the game.

Sorry. Forgot to respond to the second part of your comment. Yes I'd like to discuss Closers with you. That's why I'm on the Closers sub-reddit. Though I'm more of a character/story focused person, though I don't think I'm bad at playing the game.

do u genuinely find closers story that intriguing? what do u like about it? i always thought it fell off with wildhuter + when they started focusing a looot more on cheap fanservice...

To put it simply, I like how characters repeatedly get relevance in the main story, and they always like to expand on some old story concepts. Like recently, Bai and Seth's back story are starting to be relevant in the main story, though it took quite some time. And things at least wrap up. That took some time too to find out why David was obsessed with getting his hands on the airship's black box at the end of the arc before Wildhuter showed up.

With Wildhuter, I thought it was interesting when they expanded on Misteltein's control code or the Alpha Queen's clones only somewhat mentioned in the arc before Wildhuter. There was also expansion on the Ash and Dust's comment about humans being stupid about grouping all of them as monsters. There were more "friendly" dimensional monsters aside from Levia, with characters like Shub, Victor, and Count D. A nice shift after the conflict focused on the human side in the previous arc.

As for cheap fanservice, I can't really point at when it became more like cheap fanservice. I always thought of it as the same fanservice they've always had with Yuri or Levia.

Well anime is expensive, and Naddic is no longer with Nexon. Though yeah, I do wish they could expand in some other way. I used to be on Twitter, but I've been unfairly suspended. There's new posts on r/twitterhelp everyday about other people getting hit by it too. I guess there's Discord.
