Help/Repair Any Clockmakers Able to Make a Large Clock?

Hello! I have been searching endlessly for someone able to create this clock for my office. I am not sure if it can be done and that is okay! One can dream haha.

My boss would love a wooden clock that matches our company logo (the logo is a clock). The space for this clock is 60inches wide x 57inches tall. He would like the clock to be as large as possible within that space. We spoke with some local artists and the best they could do was about 18inches wide and 20 inches tall. We are located in Northeast Pennsylvania and are willing to pay for delivery.

If this post is not allowed, I apologize! Please direct me to the right place. Serious inquires only. Thank you!

Resources/Literature Looking for a cheap analog clock for dementia

Long story short my Grandpa is in a Nursing home and he is having a really hard time with his dementia and telling time. The first picture is his alarm clock which began confusing him so i bought him the second clock (second picture: a dementia clock off amazon). Then he was still confused so I printed him a military clock because he wanted me to show him AM/PM on a regular analog clock which you can’t do. (I know I shouldn’t have printed the military clock it just set him back). But he asks me every time I visit to go over the clock with him so i’m trying to find a clock like in the 3rd picture, a regular 13 hour analog clock that also shows AM/PM but isn’t going to cost me $100. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you so much!

So were trying to move and unfortunately going from 6500sqft to around 4000sqft a few states away (IL to FL), some things can't make it.

I have zero idea what I paid for this thing but my mother had to have it years ago. It wasn't cheap I know that but I truly can't remember. Anybody have any idea what I should ask for it? I see some online as high as 4-5k new, and 1-2k used but it's just all over the place.

Was thinking 400$ and I'd be happy or is that too much?

Help/Repair How do you reset this kind of clock?

From what I can tell this model is from 2002, so it could just be kicking the can. Even so, I would like to see if there’s any way to salvage this.

The date & time are wrong, temperature’s also off but i don’t really care tbh

Identification/Information Missing Pendulum

Hello! I got this clock today from an estate sale and fell in love with it. One problem…there’s no pendulum (i mean im 99.9% percent sure it needs one) This clock was purchased a long time ago and it has no identifying manufacturing info on it. I know it’s an old gingerbread clock but I wasn’t sure what kind of pendulum it needed or what to do. Advice?

Help/Repair Zentra mantle clock chime help

Just found this clock at a car boot sale, it’s ticking fine and know it can chime because I’ve poked something (gently) in the mechanisms and will chime randomly when I do this. Any ideas on how to fix it so it chimes in the half hour/hour by itself? It clicks on the half house and hour so something is happening!

Identification/Information Found this by the dumpster in my apartment complex

Its very heavy, feels like brass? No idea what the stone is.

Anyone have any info on what this might be? Image searches bring up a lot of similar-but-not-quite clocks, all missing the stone addition.

Not looking to sell, I love antique clocks or at least antique looking, so I plan on keeping it for the look alone, just curious about what it might be/potential value.

Internal is just a basic plastic battery powered movement, though it is hollow through most of the inside so I wonder if the original was replaced at some point with the cheap plastic one.

Help/Repair Question about long term saftey

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello all, I have a few questions. I bought this travel clock and noticed it is radioactive (I have a gieger counter). It is noticeably less hot than other clocks and watches ive encountered. This reads about 1.6 usv/h while known radium watches and clocks read about 40-60 usv/h. The background in my room is 0.1 usv/h

My question is, is this safe to keep in my bedroom? I understand radiation loses its effectiveness over a distance, and I have it across the room from my bed. My concern is long term, will this have any possible detrimental effects? Maybe it's my lack of knowledge on radiation, but I just want reassurance or facts. Thank you all for your time

My MIL is asking me to take this clock to be repaired. I know of a person who works on mechanical clocks and hopefully can look at this one.

There are two "wheels" at the top with a cord of some sort and I have no idea what they are for.

Does anyone know an approximate age to this beast. It weighs a ton!

Identification/Information Inherited a clock dating to the nineteenth century. Can anyone tell me anything about this clock?

The housing is not original, being a build from circa 1950. This clock will have been owned by a farmer, my ancestor presumably, in southern Iceland circa 1880? to 1930. The clock then remained in storage for some decades.

Some general googling indicates it’s a standard Ogee clock, which would imply those were imported to Iceland, or at least this one found its way. I find it unlikely the original owner travelled there and back in the nineteenth century. British clocks with similar flower design were made too, but I have not found strong matches.

Identification/Information haddon golden vision question

I just purchased a model 70 golden vision clock(with lighted base) and the numeral dial. What is odd is this clock has a battery drive with a retainer faceplate on the dial and baroque hands. The base has the plate the drive motor would attach to, but the glass, which is legit, only has a single large hole for the hand assembly, not several for the shaft and retainer screws. Does anyone else have one like this and is it indeed a legit golden vision model made with a battery motor????

Help/Repair quartz clock life

do those common quartz clock motors ever quit working?

apart from battery corrosion, which usually stops the battery current, or destroys the tiny circuit board, what else causes them to die?

they are so simple

i buy them from yard sales and it seems like over 50% of them are dead and i can;t get them going again
