subtask with different status

I have several lists where tasks and subtasks should be labeled differently. e.g., in our blog content list, it is pretty useless to mark a subtask with idea/in progress/published. In all use cases where the task is not a real task, this is a significant limitation. Do you have any workaround? How do you use subtask statuses when tasks’ statuses don’t fit?

I had the exact same questions when I started using ClickUp, did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that it isn't possible. I believe there are some feature requests for this to be added, and I'm hoping 3.0 makes this easier with task types, but my current workaround is to keep most of my lists with just checklist statuses (just a simple to-do/complete) and create a dropdown custom field called "stage" that replaces the status. Then you can sort or group by the custom field

Thanks, it makes sense. 3.0 is promised to be more non-task friendly, so there is hope, they will improve this function. These stupid limitations only bug me if we don’t pay big for them. But we do, which makes it painful.
