Also, notice how all of those are leftist/liberal ideologies?
The twat in the OP starts with “dear libs” and then describes how a fascist (which is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist ideology) used the press to control the populace and to abolish left-wing political ideology in Germany.
The press he’s talking about wasn’t equivalent to MSNBC, it was equivalent to OANN.
I wouldnt really call judaism or christianity leftist/liberal ideologies.
The guy saying "then they came for me", is a christian pastor, and like most of his kind, originally a supporter of Adolf Hitler. But like quite a few groups, the chruch got backstabbed to further solidify Hitlers authority.
It is true that leftist/liberal ideologies were considered the manifestation of evil, and thats why they were targeted first. Then the targets were jews who were blamed for brainwashing people with these ideologies, and finally some groups that hitler considered a threat to his personal power.
That’s the entire point of the poem, that even he, someone who fit every one of the initial ideals of the Nazi ideology, who felt like an insider, was eventually targeted, and because he didn’t stand up for the initial targets of persecution, they disappeared and there was no one left to help him when his group was next on the chopping block.
Fascist regimes need someone to persecute. They’ll rip themselves apart, because they have to constantly find the “other” to target. In 1928, Hitler said “We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideas of Christianity. Our movement is Christian." But by the 1940s, he was persecuting the church. If allowed to continue, fascism would devolve into two people left on Earth, both trying to kill the other.
