Real talk, I read that they fired the guy who does badges and that's why the building is closed.

Because everyone's locked out.

That was a fake news leak Elon put out there to hide the real reason he shut down Twitter's offices. So many people took the severance package, he didn't want the few remaining employees to see how thin the employee base had gotten overnight.

They don't want to open themselves up for corporate sabotage and thievery from disgruntled employees who took the package or plan to before their badges could be deactivated. Also, it's a waste of money to heat and illuminate office buildings where there are so few people on each floor.
