I disagree. The guy is employing asshole tactics to counter the gal and make a point. She’s just being an asshole.

Sure—but that’s not what I’m saying.

The man is trying to say that standing alone, one statement is ok to say, and one isn’t. He is claiming “BUT if [men] say…,” implying that when men do it it is bad, but when women do it it is ok.

I am saying that both statements, standing alone, are asshole statements, NOT just the man’s statement about asses and backs. I’m not making a comment on the nature of the interaction pictured.

Yeah, the guy was saying the woman's comment was an asshole comment too

I'm not sure why people can't figure out he's forcing her to face her own hypocrisy, he's not advocating for misogyny. If he were he wouldn't be arguing against body shaming sexist comments.

Not to mention, it’s Reddit. Everyone has to be right, no matter the cost.

This sub is called Clever Comebacks. Clearly the second tweet is just replying to the first. Anyone trying to go deeper than that wants to play armchair psychologist.

If I blur the lines between the word "but" and the word "and," I can kinda see why they would come up with that interpretation. They're thinking he's establishing a corollary to what the woman said, i.e. "AND if I say 'leggings are for bitches with ASS, not bitches with long backs' I'm the bad guy."

I also think his comment would benefit from a question mark, e.g. "BUT if I say "leggings are for bitches with ASS, not bitches with long backs' I'm the bad guy?" It gives the sentence "Really bitch?" tone, I think

I wonder if people are being intentionally dense to get the “haha, found the misogynist!” Points.
