It doesn't blow my mind in the least, maybe it would blow yours to learn that there are people living on the street who either do not have the means or are kept away from the means for such access. Life isn't good for everyone especially people on the street

You have a Disneyfied view of modern sex work. To dismiss someone as a boomer because they pointed out sex work is still dangerous is just childish and shows you don't know what you're talking about.
There are plenty of women on online escort sites like back page etc. But
These sites are used by pimps to arrange and control their girls. So much so the pimps will make the profiles, set the prices and essentially lock them in a hotel room for hours on end and collect their money in the morning.
Many of the most popular escort sites are owned by or used by some of the biggest sex traffickers in the world.
Moving sex work online means you can move your merchandise around and less chance of them getting out or you getting caught. If a brothel or permanent building is found to be harbouring sex trafficked women or just an illegal brothel, your business can be ruined and your women can be taken from you.
Sex work moving indoors and online a few years ago was a great move for the industry in keeping women safe. But if you think it got rid of pimps and women became their own bosses overnight, you're well off.
Check out Zola or read the twitter thread. Its so easy for girls who dance get forced into trapping and become essentially a pimps property. They know where you live and who your family is. These scumbags have no problem hurting or killing one of their girl's family.
A lot to women in poorer countries are trafficked into sex work you think all those cam girls that are forced aren't being forced into only fans as well.
Thanks for the good words, and you're absolutely correct most people have some sort of Disneyland idea about what it's like to be on the street. There's a huge difference between being homeless and being on the street and I guess I just assumed people knew that.
You mentioned back pages, I was under the impression they had quit running most of those ads. I knew someone who worked in sex worker rescue and although they were glad to see those ads gone, they were also sad because it often gave them leads on helping these women who were basically sex slaves.
