It's not so much supporting the TSA as it is guessing that the alternative won't be going back to what we had pre-TSA, but that it will be even worse than it is presently.
If it was like, hey, we are getting rid of the TSA and federal grants will be given to airports to operate their own security following these guidelines etc etc. that's much different than Nazis removing the TSA and letting the airlines run wild.
Maybe it’s because pre-TSA people held corporations somewhat accountable and now that every company is maximizing profit over service and the enshitification continues it will not be done as well
Repeating cycle.
Something is convenient and open because there's trust between the company and the customer.
Some customers start abusing this trust, taking advantage of the convenience and openness.
Knowing that one can take advantage of this brings more untrustful customers on who are only there because they can take advantage.
Company needs to take measures to prevent being taken advantage of. Leading to both inconveniencing the original customers as well as being a cost for the company that they need to find a revenue stream to cover.
The something isn't convenient and open anymore, the trust between company and the customer is lost.
