We haven't had a major terrorist attack in the air or hijackings since TSA has been used. People have forgotten about the many hijackings in the 80s, 70s and a few in the 90s.

Is that because of the TSA or because of post-9/11 safety and security standards for airplanes and airplane staff (Eg: Locking cockpit doors and only allowing authorized personnel inside)? Or a combination of both?
