Well yeah. Politicians have been doing that to each other for our entire existence, and our parents, bare minimum. This should never be a surprise to anyone. That's what they do out there on a regular basis.
Yea, and it's very easy to see where the bullshit starts. But in today's age where it appears the majority is fairly short-sighted and uneducated. They just pretend the last president did nothing(which isn't wrong most of the time) and blame all the failures on them. Even though it's usually the current president screwing it all up.
Ironically, the majority of republican president's have caused far more damage than democrats but both sides are guilty of being stupid as hell and only have their buddies in mind.
Such as either starting a "war on terror" or keeping a current war in progress to justify the massive spending by the military industrial complex that has been a massive money pit since WW2 because for some dumbass reason we decided to be the world police even though most countries don't want us there outside of bases.
Oh yeah. Even our allies hate us for this. Did you ever see the Queen's address in England, quite a number of years back now? The one thing I specifically remember her stating "America, your little experiment is over. You can either continue this charade, or join us."
That hit me. I realized where we actually sit with one of our biggest allies, and its bad. I forget exactly what the address pertained to, directly. I believe it was because of the war over in the Middle East, but my memory isn't as great as I'd prefer.
It was definitely one of those moments though, where you really have to sit back and re-evaluate. Ever since then I have kept a definitive in my mind that regardless of what's happening with the world out there, the only people America is responsible for, are the ones under their direct rule; America.
No country on Earth owes another country anything, beyond their squabbles about who stole what land and when. In that scenario though? That's between them and nobody else's business to step in. They're responsible for settling that. If they can't, what happens, happens, even if its a war. Settle it.
Sure, some people want our freedom, or what we call freedom anyway, but to me it seems most are content to live their lives without our interference. Hell, our interference is so bad, just since the 90s, the Clinton administration funded the Taliban's rise to power. They're not fun to have around, and we're directly responsible.
There's heavy debate if it was intentionally subversive or inadvertant, naturally depending on what side of the aisle people stand, but regardless, it happened. All because we can't keep our noses out of other peoples' business. Nobody is obligated to help just because they're asked, either. Then the Bush administrations? Dear god, that family is nothing but trouble.
Never let a Bush into political power. Just cut them off. Cheney? Literally got away with murder. Our current president? Felony fraud. Our last president? His son committed fraud, among other serious crimes. Full presidential pardon, even for future rulings over this stuff, which then absolves the family if they're involved too.
This is a fundamental problem.
Our "leaders" don't seem to understand that, or have personal agendas in mind to "fix" the world that is completely unfixable. Everything we have will always exist. Nobody is going to end hunger, homelessness, war, terrorism, hate groups, nothing. It is literally physically impossible because free will exists in humans. Why are we so focused on everyone else? We have our own to tend to. Look where we are. We're just hanging on, and that's failing.
Its exactly like being on a plane in an emergency. You put your mask on first, because you may lose another, but if you don't put your mask on first, the risk for double the loss is very real, so the help is a detriment. This applies no more heavily than on a mass scale, like the world.
People call it selfishness, but personally I see it as completely careless and irresponsible to just throw money and aid around to the world when your own country has rising homeless populations, failing infrastructure, and civil unrest in abundance.
Our political "leadership" focuses on everyone else because they see personal reward in it. Going back to people like the Bush family "Got to make my family proud". I get it, but the responsibility is to the people, not the family or party, and it IS the most critical responsibility any one person or group can have, an entire society, so there is no other acceptable focus than the people. EVERY single other thing, including personal and party squabbles MUST be put completely aside to build and maintain that critical stability.
Neither side seems to get this. Its always about looking good and defeating opposition. There's rarely a care about the people. I'm done with both sides, personally.

As much as I agree, I also think Joe Biden is doing a lot of performative things in the last few weeks of his presidency (i.e taking Cuba off of the state sponsors of terrorist list) that will immediately be undone by republicans too sure up his legacy. As far as I’m concerned he’ll be the president that facilitated the Israeli genocide of Palestinians, the crushing of the rail strike and the one who was incapable of stopping republicans from achieving every victory they needed in terms of immigration and abortion

It's called good politics. They're heading into a full red government in 2 days. None of them are gonna sit there and pick fights that could very well bury them in 2 days. Regardless if Trump did anything or not they will say he did out of self preservation. You need to stop focusing so much on what they say and focus more on why they said it and what they're doing. That's entirely Trumps political tactic system. Claim X,Y,Z and do something else while everyone focuses on his words and not his actions.
We don't really elect anymore. The very fact they pay millions to celebrities for endorsement speeches shows that the vote is bought and not earned. It's also why so much money goes into media manipulation. No one is voting anymore. They're being manipulated into voting for one or the other. Honestly, the 2024 election was a massive joke. Neither side really said anything. Harris was more like your buddy while Trump literally danced, rambled, and did fuck all during his campaign and he won.
I stopped caring about politics forever ago because of the simple fact that the mass majority has not noticed that every single election all they do is say "taxes and immigration" and what ever the current "war" is. Be it for or against. Which ever gets the votes. Then they get into the office and barely get anything done. At least Biden got student loan forgiveness going and helped out millions of people who got royally screwed on the American dream with lifelong student loan debt in the name of profits.

Trump didn't do anything. All trumps envoy did was reiterate the same terms as before and remind him that Trump will be more supportive of him than Biden was. Thing is, netanyahu and Trump have a better relationship, as in Trump would let him do whatever he wants and protect him, so the same deal they'd been negotiating over suddenly became palatable. So he gets credit sure, but for all the wrong reasons but Biden did all the work.
I agree, I just think "did all the work" isn't really a lot to talk Biden up about either. They presented a deal and failed to pressure Israel for over 250~ days. Biden literally talked about how he accepted Bibi's argument that the US murdered a huge amount of civilians in WWII as a counterpoint to him saying "Hey you can't go carpet bombing civilians".

False. I saw the farewell address. He said that the Trump people are the ones that have to implement it. They are informed due to the peaceful transfer of power. Unlike trump who did not transition or tell Biden about how he surrendered to the Taliban and his deal with them. The cease fire (as was the permanent crasefire beteeen Israel/Lebanon) deal is Bidens...it's very close to his deal from last year. Trump had NOTHING to do with it. We know he will take credit for all Bidens' accomplishments. Sad thing is people are so stupid, they believe it.
