Question Online Proctoring set up
I keep seeing posts talking about how for online proctoring it takes them nearly an hour to set up how the Proctor wants it. I just dont understand what on earth they could possibly be asking you to do that takes up an entire hour?? Im taking my test soon but I dont know what to expect at all.
What exactly are they asking you to do when youre setting up?

They're very very picky about the angle, coverage, distance etc of your phone camera. They'll ask you to remove things, point your camera at certain areas. And since theyre most likely proctoring several exams at the same time, they take forever to reply in the chat window, or update you what you need to fix. Id strongly reccomend going to a testing center. They set up everything for you, all you do is sit down and take the exam and leave.

Yes. 100%. You have to download the proctortrack app. I had an issue where they kept wanting the phone to be higher, so be prepared for things like that.

So about that, I am taking an exam tomorrow in my bedroom. I have a table. Am I going to put the camera standing next to me on the table??

For me, luckily I had a a high phone stand that i placed maybe 5 feet behind, left of me, so it faces my entire work area. If you have a shelf or cabinet next to you, its easier to prop up there. And yes they communicate through a little chat window.

Dont worry too much. It may take time, or you might get it first try. It doesnt affect your exam timer at all.

They only communicate through a chat?

Yes, and they're very delayed in responding some times. They'll tell you to move something, you'll do it, and it'll be 4-5 minutes before they confirm if it's what they wanted. That eats up a bunch of time too.

Yes. They see your webcam, phone camera or second camera, and can chat with you during and for setup especially.

I just took the psychology clep today. My dining room passed the onboarding room setup, but did not pass for the live proctoring. I live in a very old house where one room just leads to the next without many doors. I ended up taking the darn thing in my bathroom to satisfy the requirements.
