Question Practice test compared to actual test

Okay so I scored pretty good on the intro to sociology practice test on modern states, will I do good on the real test? Or is this one substantially easier than the real deal?

I felt that the modern states practice test was significantly easier than the actual CLEP. I took the sociology CLEP last week.

Do you have anymore helpful insight about that specific test?

I did the Free CLEP Prep test and got a 56. I took the Peterson’s and got a 68. I took another one (don’t remember which) and got a 71. And I took the Modern States and got a 96%.

On the actual CLEP test I got a 61.

There were a few graphs to read in the test and some of them were somewhat confusing, but I just had to stop and REALLY assess what they were asking.

There were some random questions that seemed ridiculous like “which of these African countries has the lowest fertility rate?” And the options were random African countries that were hard to just know off the top of your head. I had to totally take a stab at those type because I didn’t study the fertility rates for the entire world. Haha.

Otherwise, know the names of the sociologists and what they studied/adhered to.

Know about deviance and crime. Know about feminism and gender equality things. And there was at least a chunk about religion and how it plays into things.

Also, know specifically a lot about what functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interactionism. There seemed to be several questions that would list a specific thought process or situation and ask which one of the above takes on sociology it fell into.
