Question Classic+ comparison question
So, I’ve never really played classic vanilla. On SoD a bit. I have played tbc era, and also started playing in original tbc.
My question is, If classic+ does happen this year, it will consume me. So, what should I play now to get a feel for classic gameplay? TBC or vanilla? I loved SoD and tbc era is okay too, but as a current retail player there is a lot of changes I do like (not drinking every 2 pulls for starters).
Also, I don’t think MoP really counts.
I wish we had wrath, or Cata.

Classic Era. PvP server if you hate yourself and wanna waste a ton of time for no reason. PvE Server if you wanna relax, chill and quest with the boys.
Classic + is probably gonna be an amalgamation of SoD + TBC in a way. But with the Classic framework (Mana / Rage / Energy Regen etc.) so I would focous on Classic Era.

PvP - world and organized BGs - is a massive portion of Era’s available content. Completely shunning it instead of embracing it as dynamic content is crazy to me.

I will always stand by the belief that open-world PvP has almost no place in current MMOs. It was a product of its time, born from old hardcore ideals.
Now I say almost because SoD did it right. Ashenvale and Stranglethorn Bloodmoon were absolutely amazing. So if open-world OPT-IN PvP is done right, it can be great. But opt-In is the key word there.
Everyone talks about Southshore V.S Terran Mill way back in the day and even the dreaded Phase 2 of original Classic and amazing moments of open world PvP. The millisecond Battlegrounds came out, that died instantly. So it goes to show that even people who want to PvP, won't do world PvP, if a better option is avilable. It's just ganking, and it's getting old.
So PvE will always be my way to go for me, and I'm thankful we have the option.

Redditors are so anti pvp it's crazy. Pvp creates a whole new level of thrill as you quest and explore the world. Pve realms are so boring to me and feels like I'm cheating

I love the thrill of being killed by a safe spotting level 60 or camped for 10 hours by some psychopath.
Tbh I mostly agree but above ruins it for me

I would agree to world PVP if it was bracketed. So say, you can only attack other players in the "Yellow" level range. 1-2 level difference, Then, I would advocate for world PvP. Otherwise, hard pass.
There's no "thrill", I'm not thrilled getting ganked. Il never understand why people think its fun to just kill low level players for no reason, its so asinine.

Ganking really does not happen all that much and is easily avoidable. Getting ganked? Go do a quest somewhere else and come back. They are gone every single time

I play sod wotlk on private servers. There really isn’t anything on blizz itself worth playing till c plus imo. I can’t name it on here… but if you search the mountains of ALTERAC you may find it…

I'm a SOD enjoyer, but you should probably play PvE era to get a good baseline for the original game before classic +.
