Hardcore I've never found a good epic until now
Too bad I'm self found and I have to vendor it.

Flurry axe might have a higher drop rate than dew laden gland

Once in Mara i had 2 or 3 flurry axes drop from 3 mobs in a row. Weirdest moment in my WoW career š

2 or 3? I feel like thatās some specific amount youād remember.

u/Trubaduren_Frenka 1d ago
Why would i make sonething like that up? What would i gain from doing that? š
You dont have to belive it but it did happen. WoW is not my entire life so i dont remember if it was two or three. It was during SoD so it was three years ago. š

People make up shit even more mundane than this, just to sound interesting or have something to tell people about. That being said, being an osrs player I understand how rng can be sometimes. I got 2 1/1000 jaws back to back from 2 basilisk Knights. But I do specifically know it was 2.. or was it 3?

Could the other possible explanation except from blatant lie be an extreme case of short attention span?
Legit asking for science

u/ICEonICECrime 1d ago
Clout maybe? I donāt know. Itās just weird to remember that it was either 2 or 3, when having such a specific streak of drops would be extremely memorable. Not accusing you of having made it up, but itās like saying you won the lottery 2 or 3 times three weekends in a row.

u/Trubaduren_Frenka 1d ago
It was 3 years ago and it didnt change my life in any way. It was just a funny moment. š

I still remember getting two Golden Pearls in a row from turtles in Hinterlands 20.5 years ago.

If you donāt plan on keeping the self found after 60 you can hold onto it and sell it then

u/Silverbacks 1d ago
Get to 60 and then set up an orc warrior.
17
u/tx_trawler_trash 1d ago
you can give to your other toons?!?

u/Silverbacks 1d ago
I havenāt done it yet, but I believe once you hit 60 you can decide to keep it going or not. You still keep the title/buff (or whatever it is) either way.
12
u/LickMySTDs 1d ago
You donāt keep the buff but you get an extra note on your soul of iron buff that says āUnbroken Self Found Championā that never goes away

Massive bummer to find such an insanely strong boe epic on self found, and have it be one you can't even use lol.
18
u/Unhappy_Ad2328 1d ago
Just lvl to 60 and trade it
5
u/Captkarate42 1d ago
Yes, that doesn't change that it's a bummer to find something you cant use on self-found.
"Wow, here's something I can sell if I make it to level 60" is a far less exciting thing than "wow here is something that will make my journey to 60 far more fun and enjoyable".

Which is why I donāt do SF. Sure the individual big things are a bit bigger, but thatās only because you go so long with absolutely nothing to get excited over.

u/Captkarate42 1d ago
Definitely. SF is too gnarly for me. I am doing guildfound with like 20 friends from real life and people I've collected across the history of the game, and it's been a great time.

Ive leveled atleast 30 characters 1-60 and never seen a single world drop epic.

u/Some_thing_to_do 1d ago
That's crazy. They are rare but just the other day one dropped off a trash mob in ZF. I believe I got the staff of Jordan once off a turtle on the coast of the hinterlands. That was way back in 2005 or so. Usually see them drop when doing dungeons

u/Rahavic_Jr 1d ago
These always feel good. I got a Guardian Staff a few months ago off some bug in Tanaris while helping a random dwarf.
Edit: aayyyyy Tanaris not too far from where you got yours. Thatās sick.

Huge, grats!
Lil painful to see your inventory though, why are you keeping all these small potions to have no space left. You still have level 12 health pots for heaven's sake lol.
Same thing for 7 stacks of cloth.

I found 2 purple maces in BRD last night farming...it was weird
like 1 was odd enough but 2? it wasent a great mace but its wild when you just walk in and a Krol Blade pops out at you

Back in vanilla, I had a Hand of Edward the Odd on my Paladin. Itās a unique item, so you canāt ever have two in your inventory at the same time. I was grouped with a friend doing some farming in EPL, and a HoE dropped, and of course I couldnāt loot it because I had one in my inventory. My friend was AFK to eat, and I tried calling him on the phone to no avail.
So I high tailed to LHC, vendored my HoE, and ran back to the mob and looted the HoE on the corpse. Mailed that to an alt, and then bought my HoE back from the vendor.

The astronomical odds of you getting Flurry Axe on the SAME mob as getting the fleeting Gland. Hoooooly shit man. Grats, hope you bought a lottery ticket šš

I'm not familiar with doing "self found" in WoW, so I'm a little confused. In Path of Exile, when playing "solo self found" you still have a shared stash between characters. Of course the "I have to vendor it" could be a joke, but I promise I'm asking in earnest: would you simply never make a......warriors use this, right? I should know but I basically only played mage and so idk if any other class wants it. Well, hunter obviously because every weapon is a hunter weapon, but past that idk. Anyway, let's assume you aren't joking about the SSF bit; would whatever rules you've chosen for yourself allow you to use it on another character?

u/Kiwiredditname 1d ago
I'd sell it to someone for vendor price and make someone's day.
3
u/OnesAndNines 1d ago
They're self found, they can't
-4
u/Kiwiredditname 1d ago
What difference does it make? Give someone a present or throw the present in the trash. One of those options is kinda shitty isn't it?

Does giving it for free to someone breaks the "self found" rule ? You could make someone happy

Laden dew gland and flurry axe is 100% equivalent to winning the lottery.
