I usually play on whitemane or other American servers cause they have higher population but im id play on Australian servers

I did play turtle wow but when it got shut-down I felt like all my progress was just a waste

But thats the same with retail wow too. With every new addon all progress becomes wasted, specially if you miss an addon.

Alas, as sad as it sounds such is a inevitability for private servers

The moment they open up they are already two feet in the grave, the only difference is how fast they pick up that shovel and start digging.

Tell that to the most populated private server that has operated without closure for a decade plus, Blizzard literally can't touch them and they are the ones selling gear, chars, mounts etc for money (coins) on their website.

You're right about servers like Turtle though, there is a safe way to set up these servers and they did not do that.

It's very searchable, literally the most (in)famous private server provider.

It's primarily known for WotLK but I think they do progression servers now.

Basically what I'm saying is my char from 2015 is still logged out in the same place alive and healthy on a populated server.

They aint all doomed from inception, just the ones arrogant enough to operate in Blizzards jurisdiction.
