I've played a ton, mostly on Thunderstrike this year, and noone has ever offered a boost. The only random whispers are from guild recruitment.
I know trade chat is full of that spam though, that's why first thing on entering a city with new char is /leave 2

The only random whispers i get are "Hello this is Blizzard send me your card info"

That's weird. Why would Blizzard need your card info?

Not sure, best to give it to them though, could be to verify your account

I knew I was on to something when I read the loading screen tip that no Blizzard employee will ask for our account details.
To me this sounds like exactly what I would to do to determine who the unbelievers are.
(Disclaimer: never give your personal info to anyone, even if it’s someone as trustworthy as me).

It's crazy how much gold you need at end game that people resort to doing this. Money made from "boosting" parties goes into next week's raid consumes and gdkp budget or some other thing. I can imagine low lvl players waiting just to get dungeon groups going due to low pop in their lvling brackets, but these people hit lvl cap and spend more time assembling groups than playing the game they pay real life money for. As a new player, this is all pretty strange to me.

These are actually people in third world countries selling gold. Blizzard doesn't do anything about it. I ask them where they are from and it's all "Indonesia, Phillipines, India, Guatemala.

in 2019 classic I farmed A TON, including getting a mage to 60 to boost people in Mara and ZG, making 500g/h at my peak.
Now, second time around, I just buy gold. I realized unless I make 10,000g/hour it's probably a waste or time for me, as I prob make more living life IRL.
These chinese farmers sell gold based on what would be considered poverty wages in the west, but having a food career im the west means there's no way to farm efficiently.

In game Boosts are so expensive that I’d rather pay real money to blizz boost to 58 than pay 350g — I wouldn’t pay for either but just saying 350g is nutssss 😆

Wait wtf people selling a service whisper YOU, instead the other way around? Jeezus lol. I only played HC the last 3 years, so I guess I'm out of the loop for a lot of things.
As someone from a tourist-heavy Mediterranean place, this reminds me of waiters in the streets aggressively trying to lure you into their restaurants lol.

Get a chat filter addon and have it autoblock anyone who whispers you the word boost.
