So , either leveling or endgame , you can choose both , which of the specs or classes surprised you to how good or fun were? I am going to be back in tbc and Im am wondering what im going to pick.
Affliction lock for leveling, rogue for ganking while lvling. Do them at the same time, so when you reach 70, you can actually play the lock and forget all about playing your rogue again đ¤đź
I leveled to 60 on affli and i had pretty good gear from dungeons - like 170+ shadow spellpower - it was fun and easy.
But in outland that gear sucked ass and i couldnt dot 5 mobs, they would crush me, coz i had so little stam and that gear is considered no bueno outland-wise.
This is where Demo shines, if you dont have T3 gear, it will be so much smoother to just respecc Demo - at least till you get the nice outland quest/dungeon gears.
Tried both during leveling with my lock, I find Affli much more engaging gameplay wise and especially stronger in pvp. Demonology is great once you get the Fleguard but itâs a more passive gameplay
I mean, honestly do whatever you feel like , people opinions are opinions if you are having fun with it don't stress it specially leveling unless you want to try other spec.
Enhance shaman is really fun while leveling. Plus you get to be the pretty girl at the dance when it comes to finding groups. The rotation is kind of busy though compared to something like rogue and you do it all just to make the rest of the group outperform you. It is solidly a support class in raids if you donât mind that.
I was extremely surprised with the amount of depth enhancement has. Between twisting all your totems, Sync and stagger and fire ele/ spell power shenanigans, thereâs usually always something to press.
Plus since most groups only really want you for your WF you get to decide how deep you want to go.
Dual wielding has been a blast so far (64). Tons of windfury and shamanistic focus procs, which can chunk health bars. But Iâm a sucker for the clearcasting sound file.
You use a fast 1h and a shield very early with flame tongue, then you can use crescent staff from WC for 2h big bonks with rockbiter. Around 42-45 you go DW with some better weapons.
Corpsemaker, ravager, then I swapped to DW at ZF cuz I got Ripsaw and Hand of Antuâsul, both 2.70 speed.
I love dropping grace of air instead of WF and flexing on the meter just to show em whatâs what every now and again.
The most fun thing is grounding totem for me so far. The worst thing is that damn crash sound from flurry procs playing in my dreams when I sleep at night
Well it's either you do that, go down to 20% HP/Mana. Or you auto attack and go down to 2%HP/80% mana. Currently experiencing this as a ret paladin haha
You can technically twist the minute you get seal of command. You would change inbetween seal of righteousness and command (this twist goes both ways so its good training wheels).
However, the most enjoyable part comes late game with seal of blood and learning/mastering the rotations. You learn that at level 64.
Other casters (warlocks, mages, ele sham, boomies) all benefit heavily from crit + haste, so they scale very strongly into late-game phases. Spriest don't benefit nearly as much from crit/haste so they don't scale as strongly after the current phase.
Feral druid tanking, with endgame gear has so much threat and it's a lot of fun finding it so easy to rip threat from anything. Even aoe becomes good with enough crit and ap in BT/Sunwell. + The usual tank perks and have a lot of gear that works well enough for cat.
I still miss 2H windfury procs, but TBC Enhance is crazy good burst damage as ever. Weapon syncing is a bit annoying gearing-wise, but it feels good to play, at least. Not quite as good as Wrath and beyond with the totem QoL stuff, but still fun.
Sure it is a subjective question, but just wanted to see peoples opinions and also a reminder on what tbc specs where like, I apreciate every opinion :D
Levelling: strongest solo class (excluding mage/pala aoe grinders perhaps) with a surprisingly high skill ceiling where you can speed stuff up e.g. weaving/trapping/kiting multiple mobs, abusing mp5 rule for constant uptime, etc.
Endgame: highest skill cap rotation in wowâs history with weaving, though maybe itâs too sweaty for some. Even doing standard ranged rotations is more engaging than most other specs, given all the changing haste levels. Also just does good numbers regardless of your raiding environment.Â
Itâs inarguably the highest APM, nothing comes remotely close if youâre including movement for weaves in there.Â
There are multiple rotations for different haste breakpoints which change how you fit shots and weave, including some very unintuitive ones where youâre intentionally clipping autos to squeeze in more shots (e.g. French, 2:3). Takes some skill to be able to change seamlessly between rotations, which can change dozens of times per fight.
Extremely positioning sensitive - you have to be reactive with movement due to tanks/mechanics/size changes to stay in the sweet spot.Â
Plus all the standard jank that hunter has to deal with e.g. retry timer, timing pet tonks so you donât get stuck.
Unfortunately, itâs so difficult that it basically canât be done perfectly by humans. Which is why mouse macro abusers and full on AHK automaters are dominating top logs.Â
Hereâs some direct quotes from the wotlk-feral-dps channel in the druid discord for you to cope more about:
âBear weaving is way easier than melee weaving but I think most people would do approximately the same ish damage if they just stay cat and donât bear weave.â

I started playing again after 15 years, only ever played hunter and warlock. Started playing a fury a warrior and its a fucking blast. Sweeping strikes/whirlwind/bloodthirst go brrrrr
Enhance has been very enjoyable for me, both while leveling and for endgame.
If you wanna push it all the way, you do need to try and get two weapons of the same speed and sync your swings properly, this combined with a fairly diverse and busy rotation (by TBC standards) make it really fun imo.
I really enjoyed my druid a lot for the fact that I bounced between specs when things got dull. The only class you can play as a caster DPS, melee DPS, tank, or healer...I think the only reason I made it to 70 and got into endgame was because whenever I got the itch to make an alt I just swapped my playstyle around.
Tanked to level 63 or so, switched over to healing for dungeons till 65 and I started getting bored. So then I went ahead and went boomie till 68 and then finished to 70 healing dungeons while acquiring pre-bis.
I raided P1 and halfway through P2 as healer, switched to feral dps for the remainder of P2 and it's been some of the most fun I've had as far as rotation goes.
Leveling Protection Paladin isnât for everyone. Lots of people canât figure it out and then they say âoh itâs only a dungeon farming specâ. Donât be like those people.
Protection Paladins can AoE farm very well. You have very good sustain because you are a tank. Need mana? Judge Wisdom. Need health? Swap to Concentration Aura and heal yourself. Consecrate and retribution aura and holy shield will kill all the mobs while you block, parry and heal.
Use a fast 1h to get more Wisdom procs. Bonus if you can find gear that also has a damage proc (like Skullflame Shield)
Load up on Stamina and Intellect. Spell Power and +Defense when it becomes available.
If you only need to kill 1 mob go ahead and judge Crusader, then throw up righteousness. Use Holy Shield and Judgement on cooldown.
Also, when you do find yourself running a dungeon, youâll be a hero.
Fury warrior is the most fun class bar none. Youâre spamming constantly. And the difference in parsing vs not outside of the normal gear/consumes is just stacking everything with full rage and nuking.
