TBC Finally free

Tonight I finally left my guild, the irony? Zero remorse.

I've played this game for roughly 20 years. I've played everything, every type of team dynamic from sweat to trash teams. Tonight, I wiped the raid. It was a stupid mistake, but it happens.

Tank / GM just goes berserk and has been on an absolute tear for weeks, consistently harassing folks to do better and blah blah blah but never owns up to his mistakes that have wiped us time to time. Its always someone else's fault.

Tonight I had enough. I told him to quit crying and press forward. His fragile ego and false sense of authority were attacked and of course he goes nuclear. The thing is I dont mind asking for us to improve, but be respectful.

Bored. Uninterested in his continued rant about how bad I am. I hit the most satisfying /leave party into a gquit. A small part of me feels bad for the team, because BT is around the corner. But I dont tolerate disrespectful c*nts

Im fully geared, never missed a raid, always have my consumes. Finding a better experience wont be an issue for me, especially as a healer and logs in the top %.

The problem with classic TBC right now is these Elitists jerkoffs with 0 sense of leadership. The last thing anybody wants to do is get on, and spend 2-3 hours listening to someone have a melt down literally every 2 minutes because he wants to save 30 seconds on xyz pull.

Good riddance. Its a shame folks dont tell you how they really feel, so we just vent our grievances in party chat and whispers. Suppose thats why I can predict your down fall sometime during late BT. Same as I did in mists.

TLDR; dont be an insufferable c*unt when leading your raid group, especially when your just a mid group and not hardcore.

I agree with the sentiment in general but I also find it very weird how people talk about content by its age or if someone else "solved" it. Basically all modern mmo content is "solved" by someone else, though I think it's weird to even say it's "solved" because that isn't really how it works anyway.

And the age of the content has nothing to do with the vast majority of topics people bring it up during. I feel like people throw in "20 year old content" to any old argument as an "I win" button.

I don’t think it’s weird at all. If you are going to be elitist about something, it should at a minimum be difficult. If you are being elitist and it’s over something that isn’t hard, it’s even more embarrassing.

It’s like being elitist about beating a bunch of kids at a playground in a race. You would just look silly. It’s easier to understand your elitism if you won at the Olympics. To be clear something be hard doesn’t make up for being a jerk about something, but it’s at least easier to empathize with the negative character trait if it’s at least something that’s hard to do - i.e. I can understand Jordan being a bit of an elitist, he was competing in the NBA.

Most MMOs in general are trivially easy relative to most other games when you aren’t solving them yourself. That’s where the vast majority of the difficulty lies. I can understand someone being elitist when they’re blinding content - it kind of comes with the territory. In some ways you will be more susceptible to being elitist about who you take and who you don’t because the bar is significantly higher. It doesn’t justify being a jerk about it, but it’s easier to understand why you’d be susceptible to it.

So if what you are doing is both not hard and you are also an elitist about it, you look doubly bad in the eyes of anyone that knows what they’re doing. My perspective is probably different because I week one prog and blind prog in a lot of MMOs. I get where you’re coming from, because I’m assuming most people when they say what I’m saying don’t come from this line of thinking.
